Job creation doesn't necessarily mean sufficient growth in GDP, which is necessary if we're going to have so much debt and deficits. There is not enough growth. Why do libs keep avoiding this fact?

    yes, they are

"You have to go back 63 years to the period between 1946 and 1949 to find a bigger four-year drop than what the country saw between 2009 and 2012. Right after World War II ended, the U.S. deficit stood at 7.2 percent of GDP. By 1949, America had a surplus of 0.2 percent. So that’s a decline of 7.4 percentage points.

We downloaded data from the Office of Management and Budget that shows the deficit as a percent of GDP all the way back to 1930. When we ran the numbers, we found, as Obama said, you need to go back to 1946 to find a larger change."

Obama said this? This is what Obama also said, before becoming president:

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. government can’t pay its own bills. ... I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.”

So, did you believed him then just as you believe him today? Of course you do :)

No it is excuse making for those who believe in one sided government and that Obama is King. Which side said they would not negotiate?

ROFL as he ignores the increases Obama and the Democrats passed in 2008 and 2009. Bush and the Republicans handed the Democrats including Obama a deficit of just $161B, they then took it to $1,400B so what are you bragging about? Yes it may come in at around $800B this year, that is STILL double the worst deficit Bush and the Republicans had and still more than 5 times what they were handed. So what exactly are you bragging about?

Yes he increased it more than any President in history and now while it is STILL deplorably high, outrageously high he is trying to take credit for cutting HIS outrageous increases somewhat? Hilarious you fall for this specious nonsense.

you're just projecting your own state of mind

i believe verifiable facts; i learned in 1968, not to trust what politicians say, especially during campaigns

    the one that won

once again, you refuse to acknowledge reality

you can thank bush's financial crisis for the vast majority of that

This isn't the first time I've heard this. It doesn't matter that Obama might have headed off this entire debt ceiling battle by coming to the negotiating table: leftists are proud and happy he staged political theater and shut down the government (albeit partially).

I really can't think of a lower form of human being than one that will inflict such misery and expense just to get their way (unless it's the knee pad wearing quislings that cheer that person on from the sidelines).

Specious nonsense that the best you got. The only people who wanted a shutdown was Obama, Reid and Pelosi. The ones who would not negotiate a deal. All they had to do was delay the individual mandate. Guess what is going to happen now, a delay in the individual mandate.

    It's true.

Obama preferred to shut down the government rather than compromise on ObamaCare.

No lie just a fact, they would rather try to destroy the Republicans than do what is best for the country and carry out their duties.

    - - - Updated - - -

Please give me some examples of how Obama did everything he could to keep as much open as possible and to inconvenience the people as little as possible.

No one wants to shut down the government but you can see that the Democrats have a plan to keep this fight up. The Senate has refused to pass appropriations that are bipartisan like the military appropriation bill that passed the house 421 to 4 but the Senate refuses to even bring up for a vote. The true leaders of the democrat party, Vallerie Jarrett and Harry Reid know the MSM is in their pocket and will ignore this simple fact to blame republicans. They rely on low information voters to believe their propaganda. Wonder why we are still working off of a 2008 budget baseline and have to keep voting on CRs? The answer is the Senate.

Then why doesn't the Senate get off their asses and pass appropriations? Because this is what they want.

Libs continue to remind us of Republican deficit spending and increasing debt. As if all of the conditions then are the same as now. There's a major difference - growth in GDP. Without growth debt is dangerous and can be catastrophic for our economy.

Far more than you. So what exactly did Obama do to keep as much of government open and operating as possible? What did he do to make sure the citizens were inconvenienced the least?

Do you think that will increase our debt?

Do you think we should fear a congresswoman who says such things?
