And likely never will see a rewrite of the tax code.
Those that get the breaks, are also those who get to buy candidates with donations.
Getting reelected is far more important than doing what is best for the typical American taxpayer.

Taxes are designed to drive behaviors. The reason we have middle class growth during those years is directly related to that rate. That tax structure drove the behavior of actually allowing those who provided the labor to keep some of those fruits. Under the current system, all the rewards go to the top because they have all the control.

So if companies dont want that tax taken, they can let those who actually do the work keep more of the fruits of THEIR labor.

Government has control over taxes, not companies.

They are commitments but certainly not mandatory. the government can end them at any time will have to end them when we can no longer pay the interest on our debt.

And companies have choices to make that allow them to keep their money or have it be taxed based on behaviors. Tariffs are a prime example.

The rich are paying most of the taxes now. Raise them and they might take themselves and their wealth somewhere else. Corporate taxes are paid ultimately by consumers. Federal taxes are a P&L item. It is very complicated.

That is a matter of tax laws - government. Tariffs are paid by exporters.

And yet all these countries that claim they are Socialist keep killing their people, in the case of the Chinese, but the hundreds of millions, in the case of the United Soviet SOCIALIST Republic, by nearly the same. And today in Venezuela, the people are starving while sitting on some of the best soil and growing conditions in the world, over the some of the largest oil reserves in the world. They have no toilet paper, they are starving to death and turning tricks to try to get enough calories to stay alive.

Yet, failure after failure we are assured that if only the Sophomore Class at Santa Cruz State could implement Socialism, why, IT WOULD BE UTOPIA!

Socialists ALWAYS claim they are bring about utopia, but all that happens is if they managed to get ahold of the mechanisms of production that they get fabulously wealthy while they kill their enemies and starve those the "other".

So, No thank you. We wee Born Free and We will Remain That Way.

Now every Lefty Candidate has to appeal to the crazed Left Wing that is sold on all this Socialist Crap.

And where does that leave you?

Uh-Oh: Poll Puts Trump Over Kamala Harris By One, By Four if Schultz Enters the Race Third-Party

And this is before the public knows anything about Kamala Harris other than that she's a Democrat. They don't know she's on board for a socialist takeover of the country, or for throwing parents in jail if their kids skip school, or for open borders, or for infanticide.

She's a Generic Democrat, in the public's mind, which is the strongest possible Democrat.

They also don't know that most of her earlier public career was turning time under Willie Brown into jobs.

It only gets worse from here for her.

I wholeheartedly agree. Our democracy is in a sorry state of affairs and its is mostly due to two events that happened the same fateful year - 1812:
*The 12th Amendment introduced the "Electoral College" because, at the time, there was some difficulty in getting national voting results to Congress. The EC was promptly manipulated internally as the US evolved into a two-party system of both national and state governance. (The result being that five times in the history of the US, the loser of the popular-vote won the presidency!)
*Also that year, in Massachusetts, a certain governor (by the name of "Gerry") introduced the concept of arranging voting districts to concentrate the vote and thus produce winners for a given party.

Our "democracy" has been warped by the above historically for more than two centuries.

And most Americans today still think that THEIRS is the greatest democracy on earth.

Yeah, right - and the sun sets in east ...

There are good number of children who do not finish high-school and do not take any "craft education". We should indeed start those programs at the post--education level.

But make access still dependent upon a High-School diploma. And, for that, we turn our attention to actually getting kids out of high-school with a degree.

That is one mighty task, I'll admit - but there's no other way. If they go to jail, they should have their jail-terms reduced if they obtain their high-school degree.)

The HS-degree is the key parameter, and it should not be lowered. If one is really too dumb to get a HS-degree then they might want to take any number of professional courses (to obtain a qualification certificate) - for instance to drive a bulldozer.

Regardless of the restrictive rectitude of hidebound ideologues, all advanced nations are pragmatic integrations of socialistic and capitalistic characteristics.

Trumpery's latest "dog whistle" - as those ubiquitous, nebulous, demonic "liberals!" have been exhausted by continuous, tedious, knee-jerk evocation - is "socialist!" as their new fear-inducing meme.

What does that have to do with you claim that canada has the strongest economy?

    Your TDS is showing.

Now you are saying most efficient, not strongest.

Look Canada is a decent country, but it is no where near the strongest economy.

Since 1920, or society has implemented progressively more and more socialist policies. Now, the left of this country wants to support those policies by excessive taxation and regulation.

You can bury your head in the sand if you want, it's socialism by a million paper cuts.

If tax laws are corrupt then you should start demanding politicians be punished. As far as I can tell, the tax laws apply to everyone. If not, then bring the demands.

you don't seem to have understood that debt is an important factor in determining the vitality of an economy.

The same principle applies to individuals, particularly Donald Trump.

    The two go together.

Canada borrows on the money market at lower interest rates than the US.

And Canada does not owe China a penny..... This is far from being the case in US....
