Yet for every Christian that fought to preserve slavery 7 fought to end it. The abolitionist movement was almost entirely composed of Christians.
Christians make no claim to personal perfection in fact if such were possible Christ and the cross would have been unnecessary.

Everyone discriminates. You do it every day with every choice good or ill that you make. Ideally such choices are made on the basis of logic as dictated by reason. Where human beings are concerned I discriminate on the basis the individual's behavior. Nothing else really matters.

 

Among politicians left and right including every clown on that stage the other night the truth is an inconvenience at best.

 

I see the points that the posters on the right are making about the down play of religion has led to a breakdown in sexual morality. But what about the Right's position that billionaires should not be taxed at prior rates to allow funds to provide for the less well off.

I think the right's position that its tuff **** the circumstances you were born in is more immoral than what homosexuality is.

 

The decline of religion is a result of moral decay, not a cause. I believe prosperity is a primary natural cause of moral decay.

 

That didn't stop anyone from praying.... just showing off about it...

In the first sentence of your post, you asked "why would I do that", referring to dictionary definitions for the word liberal. That tells me you have no use for dictionaries, and that attitude simply reminds me so much of Rush. You and he both make up your own meanings for words.

 

What I find fascinating is the left will claim every Christian supported slavery, then deny that terrorism is a part of Islam and only a tiny miniscule segment of muslims support terrorism. I wish the left would give Christians the same fairness that they give to a backwards tribal misogynistic cult.

BTW. Economic violence has been used by Liberals to shut down speech and policies of all sorts, not just Limbaugh's. Rush just has enough command of technology that he was able to name the cowards who used bots to attack him through his sponsors.

I disagree it was discrimination. The government made it easy for them. Government built them projects designed by race. Government paid women to have fatherless children. How do you make ghettos better? You get them out! Create jobs. Instill family values. That is being done now.

Yes, when you can no longer say "God bless you" in school when someone sneezes. But it's not religion, it's lack of teaching the Golden Rule and Civics in school.

I can accept the notion that there has been a moral decline in American society (I cannot do so for lands overseas as I do not know them well enough). But this decline has taken place with a coincidental rise in the influence of right wing television/radio evangelism. Therefore, my answer to your query is NO.

 

With your permission, I'd like to change that to "this president's immorality".

 

that puts forum righties into a tremendous jeopardy since they like to post all kinds of made up stories which they fail to substantiate --- small wonder why they always lose debates on this forum

 

If anything, lefties are more inclined to actually PRACTICE what is taught in the Bible as compared to righties who preach a good sermon but fail to back it up with true biblical actions.
