I have no clue why you feel someone would actually want to pretend to be 25, when everyone else is over 40. Perhaps you have some kind of youth fetish, and dream of being 25 yourself? Personally, I would hate it. No way on god's green earth would I want anyone to think I'm a kid. I have enough trouble being a grown up as it is.

Well of course, but I suspect age isn't a thing most people on an anonymous forum are going to mess with. It's not as though we're trying to find mates, or really have any personal social reason for being here. Besides, most people here seem quite proud of their age. When you feel that way, you're not going to hide it or change it.

You might change your postcode, or the make of your car, but there's absolutely no value in changing your age.

Yes, most intelligent people have a sense of humour, but there are some who don't. Either way, I said nothing at all about humour and intelligence being mutually exclusive! Furthermore, I said that INTELLECTUALS can be horrific bores. Intellectuals are people who regard themselves as intelligent (because they're educated, or because they read The Guardian, or any one of a thousand vanities) - it doesn't mean they are actually intelligent. And I maintain that a sense of humour is the sexiest.
