that would be unique not to have to hear ESPN commentators finding a way to stroke the SEC ego ;)

I remember, back in the 80's, we had to get a sattelite dish because where we lived had no cable. the big dish.... Anyways, I remember watching a regular season NFL game one time and when they cut to a commercial, the cameraman started panning around the stadium until the commercials ended. During that time, he zoomed into a cheerleader's butt and my middleschool self was loving me some no-commericials sattelite.... lol

The ACC sure whipped up on them too this year.... maybe they should try to get some coaches from the ACC....

The SEC is the greatest myth sure took a beating. The ACC swept the east during rivalry week.... and the rest of the country beat the West.... the so called greatest side of the conference.

Even their flagship team, bama, who, if they win the national title, can bail out the rest of the mediocre conference (like they have done in the past so often), and they got beat

Alabama can't support the rest of the conference all the time. They are good, but at some point... the rest of the conference is going to have to actually win some games and compete with the rest of the country

I'll take their body of work over the past years over any conference

Why does OSU have the success it does..............................the coach

I admit that I "mark out" for Meyer even when others were bashing him.

He is the right man for that job

It will be interesting to see how Harbaugh does in 2 years as his staff and recruits will be with his fingerprint

I'd like to see a good ole slobberknocker of OSU/Michigan game each year.

As for the SEC, UF was 2 years late in parting ways w/Muskrat. He'll be a good DC for Gus. He's more comfortable in that role.

UF will rebuild. SC will need to part ways with Spurrier, and Richt needs to get that killer drive in him.

The Hawgs will give every team fits this coming season and tape from the OSU/Oregon game will provide a blueprint on how to handle teams which use fast pace.

The take-away from this year; the playoff system works as OSU earned the championship.

I just hope that in future years, when 2 SEC teams are in the playoffs, that they don't play each other the first round.

body of work in 2009 has no bearing on 2014 rankings..... well, it did, but it was obvious that it shouldn't.

since 09... the SEC has been a 2 conference team.

Bama and a rotating team that included LSU, UF, and AU...... but never all 4 at the same time.....

2 teams doesn't make a conference, even if Bama wins the title.

The SEC barely had 1 team good enough..... hoping for 2 is wishful thinking

only in the SEC will they try and sell a 7-6 team as "the next great thing" because they lost to Bama by a point.

    time will tell

I will be utterly shocked if we don't see 2 SEC teams in the playoffs sometime over the next 3 years

Agreed. Lots of paper tigers in the SEC this year....and I don't see Alabama even making it in the CFP next year with the rebuild they're going to be doing.

While I'm not an SEC mark, but Bama will still be the flagship program in the SEC. Their backup qb is Jacob Coker and he will do just fine.

Still head and shoulders better than the rest of the conference. Beat the overrated West.... while claiming it's the best.... Bama will make the CFP even with 1 loss.

Well, you can contribute any football teams success to the coach.

As far as Oregon goes, you need the players to beat a Oregon, not just the game plan. A good to great D-line on rotation and smart athletic safeties usually helps.

The Hawgs will be good. As a fan of good defensive play, I liked what I saw the few times I was able to see them this season.

Michigan will be back I think in 2-3 years, but I'm wondering how long the folks in Michigan will tolerate losing to OSU 3-4 times in a row. Harbaugh is jumping into a dumpster fire at UM and he's got his work cut out for him.

    We'll see about UM

I think there are now 2 plum targets within the Big 10

the other teams in the conf will want to beat OSU and Michigan

You're probably right, but they are only returning 2 starters on offense. I get just as nervous about replacing a O-line as I do with a QB. They recruit very well though so they may end up winning the SEC again...which would say something I think about the rest of the conference.

Michigan has been playing second fiddle to Michigan St. for the better part of a decade. Dantonio is 6-2 against them, has a winning bowl record and has out recruited UM in Michigan. He's a heck of a coach and a big part of that silver bullet defense that won a National title in 02. UM will be playing catch up to that program alone for a few years if everything goes right in Ann Arbor.

God's honest truth, I dated a former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader back in the day. This would be around 1993. She went to nursing school after her 2 years as an NFL cheerleader and was an RN at the time I went out with her. Very intelligent and sweet person, but wanted to settle down and start a family right away as we were both pushing 30. Scared me off.

Off topic, now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

You blew it!! A hot cheerleader making good money as a RN?

I married a former high school cheerleader that had a LPN and thought I married out of my league.

She's probably happily married living in suburban bliss. She was very clear about her goals at the time I dated her; it was marriage and a family within 2 years. I ran for the hills. In retrospect, yeah I probably missed an opportunity. Hindsight is 20/20 my friend.
