I think rights as a person begins when human life does. While that time is hotly debated most science puts it somewhere between the fourth and sixth month of gestation.

 

A human is alive from the moment of conception

 

a case has to be brought to the court. SCOTUS simply does not decide to change a previous ruling all on its own.

 

The zygote at human conception has no characteristics that distinguishes it from any other animal zygote.

 

I think abortion is barbaric and totally selfish (the unwanted fetus didn't ask to be created, and a wee bit of planning, a minuscule monetary investment, and a few seconds could have prevented it), but I too have arrived to the point where I don't care if women exterminate their own progeny...if they can live with their choice, I suppose I can deal with it.

however...

where I have a serious problem with abortion is being forced to subsidize the industry with my federal tax remittances. The Hyde Amendment is a total scam designed by seriously deceitful people to placate seriously stupid people (money is fungible!), and the scam was put in place because the seriously deceitful people know that a preponderance of Americans will likely never agree to allow Medicaid...their tax dollars.... to cover on-demand abortion (so they simply backdoor it, and tell the dullards the Hyde Amendment makes everything legit, when in fact, the nation's abortion providers are GSEs)

For thousands of years, humans treated people born with disabilities or deformities as monsters and either killed them or treated them incredibly inhumanely.

And maybe when Democrats next take over Congress and the Presidency, they can implement the nuclear option, add 9 seats to the USSC, then go to recess so the President can just name anyone he wants without the Republicans even being able to debate his choices.

 

Body autonomy has been established precedent in America since before RvW.

But by all means, please establish the precedent that the government can force you to give up your body to another person against your will.

It’s the concept underpinning things like how the government can’t force you to give organs or even blood to another person. Hell, even corpses can’t be forced to give up organs unless the person whose body it previously was agreed to it while they were alive.

But the Right believes that women should have less rights than corpses do.
