Haven't they been blown out alot lately? They started out so well, I hope they turn it around(just not against my Lakers), 'cause I like Mark Jackson.

MJ says only 4 current players could play in his era
Jordan also says Kobe better than Lebron

Not sure what Michael's problem is, but IMO, his comments aren't reflecting well on him. First off, him saying that Kobe is better than Lebron because KB has 5 rings & LBJ has 1, just isn't fair for a few reasons. KB is near the end of his career & LBJ is in the middle of his. Wait til they're both retired & go from there. Secondly, KB got to play with Shaq(as well as other team mates that were really, really good in their own right) & only in the last 2.5 seasons has LBJ had anybody on his team worthy of being a major contributor to a championship. Again, let both of their careers play out before making comparisons. By the way, I'm a Laker fan talking here.
Really Michael, only Kobe, LBJ, Dirk & Tim Duncan could play in your era?!
I'm a firm believer that, for the most part, great players of the past would still be great now. That's certainly not a 100%, but great players like Kareem, Akeem, Bird, Magic, Worthy, McHale, Thomas & a host of others would still be very successful in today's game. In the same manner, great players of today would also be great in past eras & just not the 4 that MJ named. To the degree of success enjoyed by any of these players would depend on whole lot of circumstances, but as a rule, most of them would still be great.
So, sorry Michael, I think you're wrong.

I'm a Knick fan and I admit, we're a .500 caliber team. We just got red hot to start the year. The Raps look really good recently, they probably beat us tonight.

I saw the Rocket game where Harden and Lin beat the Thunder by themselves, and I'm sad that Lin isn't here right now. He had a rough start, but man, he's playing ball recently and he has upside.

    No kidding...

    Very enjoyable to watch...

The #2 all-time win streak in NBA history is very respectable in its own right, especially when it was just a few wins shy of #1...

    Now, It's almost playoff time!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cuban may draft Griner

Oh, my gosh...really? I'm sorry, but she would be eaten up by good boy high school players. Male high school players play above the rim ALL the time...She would embarrass herself trying to go against NBA players.

That's a nice sentiment and all...

    The problem is that

A: Women don't typically possess the upper body strength that men do, and

B: At her height, she'd play forward in the NBA, and,

C: At just a shade over 200 lbs, she'd get demolished by the other forwards in the league...

Think Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, etc...

Plus, men's BB is so much more fast paced and high powered than women's BB...

I just don't think there's any way she could compete...

    Also, consider this...

With regard to this article, there exists the possibility, however slight, that Mark Cuban is being an attention whore...

I know we'd never expect that from him, but, I guess it's possible...lol

I would like to give Cuban the benefit of the doubt, 'cause I do appreciate his passion, but there really only a couple of possibilities here: He's either an idiot, or ignorant to be nice about it, he's just being an attention whore or he's just trying to flatter Griner for some reason - ingratiate himself with the media or the league office(?) - the NBA does have a financial stake in the WNBA. Whatever his reason, on face value, it is stupid.

    Kobe out 6-9 months
For the Lakers, Laker fans & obviously Kobe himself, this is quite disappointing. Hopefully he'll be ready to go starting next year.
One has to wonder though, if all the minutes he's been playing the last week or so contributed to him getting the injury. If I were to guess, I would say that they did, fatigue can be a factor in getting hurt. So, does this contribute to the thought that the Lakers did make a mistake in hiring D'Antoni? That maybe a stronger coach(Phil Jackson?)would not have let Kobe play all those minutes, making him sit more? Just wondering.

    That sucks...

It is always bad to see a great player go down to injury...

For my Lakers, the day of reckoning is here:
Beat the Rockets & it's on to play the Spurs in the playoffs, as the #7 seed.
Lose & Utah loses, it's on to play the Thunder as the #8 seed.
Lose & the Jazz win, time to break out the golf clubs.
I think the Lakers have a punchers chance of at least making a Spurs match up interesting, maybe winning a couple of games, but virtually no chance against OKC. I think the same could be said for the Jazz.
    Go Lakers!

I know you gotta be tense right now...

And both your Lakers and the Jazz got tough games tonight...

On another note, I'll be watching my last game as a Hornets fan tonight...

    On to the Pelicans era...

Hopefully, this rebrand has the same effect on us that the Seattle Sonics-->OKC Thunder move had...

    someone answer this question:

When Dwight is shooting free throws, why doesn't he just throw
the ball hard off the backboard on his second free throw? It's almost
guaranteed he will miss the second free throw anyway ( and the first)
so if th eother team is going to foul him, why doesn't he try at least to get
the ball back on the rebound?

NBA Playoffs start! - & happy that bombing suspect caught & still keeping West, Texas in thoughts & prayers.

I'm not sure of a whole bunch except that I would be surprised if Miami gets beat by anybody.
Heat over Bucks - An all time upset if otherwise.
Knicks over Celtics - Not an easy series at all, but for the Knicks & especially Carmello Anthony, this series means everything. If they lose to the C's, they may never recover.
Pacers over Hawks - But I wouldn't be shocked if Atlanta pulls the upset.
Nets over Bulls - I switched my pick on this, 'cause I think Chicago may be running on fumes & the Nets are playing pretty well.
Thunder over Harden, oops, I mean Houston - I think overall OKC has too much for the Rockets, but I have this feeling that Houston has been playing possum the last week or so & are ready to throw everything & the kitchen sink at the Thunder. But just not convinced it's enough.
Spurs over Lakers - As a Laker fan, I'm just hoping that they play competitively. If somehow they get to game 7, I'll consider anything after that playing with house money. But I will be screaming at the TV.
Nuggets over Warriors - I worry a little about Denver's ability to be able to play "fast" in the playoffs, but not in this series.
Grizzlies over Clippers - I picked the Grizz to go to the Finals at the beginning of the year, but even as I type this I'm not even sure they'll win this series. I'm fairly certain that either of these team can beat or lose to anybody in the West.

Heat over Nets - The Nets may actually win a game or 2, though.
Knicks over Pacers - The monkey would be off the Knicks/Carmello's back.
Grizzlies over Thunder - OK, some wishful thinking going on here, but if it is to happen - OKC going down in the West - this is where I envisioned it, the 2nd round.
Nuggets over Spurs - So much depends on the health of both these teams - and how quickly S.A. disposes of the Lakers. Some wishful thinking here also, but I really do believe Denver can give the Spurs fits & are capable of more than just hanging with 'em.

Heat over Knicks - reality time for NY.
Grizzlies over Nuggets - BludgeonBall time, although Memphis has to find a way to win a game, or 2, in Denver, which hasn't been easy for anybody.

Heat over Grizzlies...or anybody else who's there. Although, if it happens to be the Thunder, I'll give them a shot, figuring they learned something from the year before.

Are the Nuggets in trouble? It sure seems like they are. I had heard before the playoffs that they were not a good perimeter defensive team & the Warriors sure are exposing that fact. The Nets may need to man up quickly or they could be in trouble also. Are any of the 2 loss teams capable of coming back? The only one I see is Memphis & I'm not all that comfy with them at this point.
