PROVE your sexist , ignorant statement :"Most women who would get an elective abortion probably aren't the type that would have any qualms about lying.""

Once again an Anti-Choicers judgemental and erroneous view of women who have abortions as "less than" others...

There is nothing sexist about the statement.

Agreed, but kazenatsu is saying women who get abortions are of low moral character.

Well, I just said that the type who would get them are not the type who would tell the truth.

I suggested a strong correlation exists.

Correlation/causation fallacy....or at least the beginnings of such.

Logically speaking, that's kind of irrelevant whether a correlation implies causation here, wouldn't you agree?

You have yet to even show an actual correlation. Until then, true enough, not relevant. However, if you think you have a correlation, then yes you would need to prove causation. The fallacy doesn't automatically say that a correlation can't have cause. It says that an automatic assumption of cause is a logical fallacy, which means you have to prove that the cause actually is the source of the correlation.

Well, let me just ask it this way:
Out of the group of women who would never get an abortion, out of strong ethical principles and a determined sense of right and wrong, what percentage of them do you think would lie to get what they want, to get something that would make their life easier?

I'm just saying, many of these women who are the ones who are going to be telling the truth, well, they're on the pro-life side. Which is going to make it a moot point, whether or not this half of woman could be trusted.

Mathematically, I'm basically positing that whatever the percentage of women in the overall population can't be trusted, it's basically going to be double that, when it comes to asking women whether or not they were actually raped so they can get an abortion.
If you have trouble understanding this, I can write it algebraically.

    1/2 A + 1/2 B = 1 C
    A = 0
    thus B = 2 C

where A is percentage of pro-life women who can't be trusted
B is percentage of pro-choice women who can't be trusted
C is overall percentage of women who can't be trusted

This assumes that half of women are not going to get an abortion. Of course, if it is lower than that, it only makes the differential even greater.

You are making an assumption as to what A and B are, with no proof to back it up. Especially since we know there are pro life advocates who have either had an abortion (women), or had a woman they got pregnant get an abortion (men). Now in the interest of full disclosure, I am not counting among them, those who got an abortion or had a woman get an abortion, and then later decided that what they did in the past was wrong. That is a valid changing of the mind. I am referring to people who are pro life activists and get an abortion or have one done and then continue to be pro life. But you have done nothing to show that pro life women won't lie about getting raped in order to get an abortion. You only assume it.

Roe v Wade leaves the decision up to the women affected. That's called "individual freedom," which is supposedly both guaranteed & protected by the Constitution. Why can't you honor that right?
