Freidman, a Russian immigrant who is known as the Taxi King, will avoid jail time, and will assist government prosecutors in state or federal investigations, according to a person briefed on the matter. --- Note he faced charges from New York State, as will Cohen. Trump can't pardon those. The Taxi King was facing a life sentence, so he made a plea deal conditional on full cooperation. Cohen will almost certainly also be facing a life sentence in New York prison, which Trump can't pardon, unless he makes the same kind of deal. This is how the pros work corruption cases, from the bottom up. It takes a while, but it gets results. The Trump corruption machine hasn't encountered anything like it before. They've always been able to lie, bribe and threaten their way out of trouble before, so they just assumed they could do it this time. It's not working out for them.

I told you guys, remember, I told you guys. The entire raid on Cohen had to do with taxis. I said the the moment the story broke. Cohen has a lock on a large chunk of the Taxi business and in NYC that creates a lot of enemies. These crooked prosecutors made a pact with Mueller to fabricate justification for that raid where the special council got his Russia Russia Russia headlines and the NY US Atty gets to go after Cohen's taxi medallions that will be distributed to the high donors and partners. You watch. No matter how this ends one thing is for sure, they will ...THEY WILL ...find a way to take Cohen's medallions. FYI for those who don't know a NYC taxi medallion is literally a licence to print money.

The special prosecutor is chosen through a system wherein the Chief Justice of the United States appoints a panel of three judges from the Circuit Court of Appeals, one of which must be from the District of Columbia, who serve three-year terms and choose the special prosecutor. The special prosecutor has the authority to send any information to the United States Congress that he or she deems relevant and can provide counsel in issues that may call for impeachment of the person under investigation.
