in reality-a dishonest expansion of the commerce clause has been used by Democrats to claim the federal government can engage in gun control and because the Democrats were the only appointers of federal judges for 20 years, this dishonest expansion took hold
Not claim.....they can currently and this has gone on for over 80 years so you had plenty of time to change things but you can't. FACT. The federal government has the power to pass gun control.
yes-based on the dishonesty of the FDR administration. That is why we need to keep seating judges who think like Clarence Thomas
Societies evolve. All human institutions evolve. Language evolves. One lives it or one lives with it.
If someone would kindly relay the following information to the member Vegas Giants for consideration: No president of the united states, nor administration, has ever attempted to implement a firearms prohibition while citing the commerce clause as authorization to do such, not even Barack Obama. Since no administration has attempted such, they likely understand that such authority does not actually exist.
As I said, owning a gun isn't commerce, to which you seem to have no answer. As I said, congress has no legislative power to ban ownership of guns. Impact commerce? What does impacting commerce have to do with the constitution? Also, for bonus points: What particular type of commerce does congress have the constitutional authority to legislate?
Yes, if you wish to ignore the constitution. But you can't change what the constitution says, so everyone will know that such action are those of criminal thugs.
Everyone knows the federal government doesn't adhere to the constitution. But the constitution still says what it says. They can't actually change that, so everyone is able to see their lawlessness. I can't very well have a discussion about the law with someone who celebrates lawlessness.
You don't expect to have a rational conversation about the constitution when you've already said that you don't care what it says because you have all the guns, do you?
