Will this be the BIG headlines in 2016?

Was reading a conservative site that ran a straw poll saying Sen. Ran Paul (31.19%) was the front runner with Sen. Ted Cruz (29.5) in second...

Not sure to trust the source or to think it is totally unreliable.

Straw poll by Rare.us | and the winner is...

    Hmmm, a straw poll.

I seem to recall Michelle Bachmann winning the vaunted Iowa GOP straw poll. She did not make it to the nomination.

A straw poll is an excellent indicator of whom folks would vote for if only a certain group would vote and they were willing to pay/donate to vote. The statistical relevance of a straw poll is right around zero.

Even so, Rand Paul is good fun for both Democrats and Republicans alike, they both love to hate him. What better candidate is there for everyone to blame for all their problems?

He's a liar and a con artist with how he ran his doctors office with a fake license. Plus he's crazy. He can't win a general election.

Can Rand Paul Learn to Tell the Truth?

The Kentucky senator and presidential hopeful has charisma, fundraising power, and new ideas. Now if can only resolve his sticky habit for bending the facts.

    JILL LAWRENCE - OCT 20 2013

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Rand Paul was talking with University of Louisville medical students when one of them tossed him a softball. "The majority of med students here today have a comprehensive exam tomorrow. I'm just wondering if you have any last-minute advice."

"Actually, I do," said the ophthalmologist-turned-senator, who stays sharp (and keeps his license) by doing pro bono eye surgeries during congressional breaks. "I never, ever cheated. I don't condone cheating. But I would sometimes spread misinformation. This is a great tactic. Misinformation can be very important."

He went on to describe studying for a pathology test with friends in the library. "We spread the rumor that we knew what was on the test and it was definitely going to be all about the liver," he said. "We tried to trick all of our competing students into over-studying for the liver" and not studying much else.

"So, that's my advice," he concluded. "Misinformation works."

He cant win at least as long as babyboomers are alive. He has to wait 15 more years to have a real chance. On the bright side at least Rand has a chance, teddy cruz has zero chance to be anything but a texas senator who will soon be vilified and put in a box by the rest of the senate from both sides of the aisle.

Even if that was true, which it is not, it would be better to run his office with a fake license than for Obama to run our country with a fake BC. Obama's phoniness is likely true, but Paul is the real deal, and is legal in all ways.

I think I might actually prefer a Libertarian President as long as Congress was controlled by the Dems. But I don’t see him getting the nomination.

If you are saying he had a fake license, what is your proof? We are talking license, not something else.

Rand or Ted will cream Hillary in a debate. I think it would be a great match up. Hillary has more baggage than the luggage compartment of a 747.

So, a representative of the party that hates dissent and government shutdowns, would be open to a government of dissent and government shutdowns?
