So helping him keep his name relevant is your strategy? I never voted for the guy, but can't help but admire his ability to get people working for him free of charge. He thanks you bigly!

You don't understand what gerrymandering is about, do you? You redistrict such that you get majorities for your party in the majority of districts. That way, when it comes time to send legislators to the state or federal gov'ts, your party has more of them than it should based on the affiliations of the population. For example, let's say we have fifteen people divided into five districts. Seven people are red, eight are blue. You would think that the districts would come out two red, three blue, but if you draw the lines so that you have one blue guy in three districts and two in the other two, you wind up with blue majorities in all districts.

Yeah but Iowa does not do that which was my point.

All but 2 house districts that will be affected in Iowa under the new plan are Republican ones putting Republican vs Republican.

The 4 house districts for the WH is based on population and must be as square as possible and must include the all of a county. Counties can not be split up. There is no small districts for cities.

In other words Iowa has no Gerry meandering and is considered the gold standard.

The committee includes 2 Democrats, 2 Republicans and a fifth person picked by the Committee. The proposal can only be rejected twice. If rejected the first time a new proposal is drawn up. If rejected again it can be amended.

Democrats are in favour of proposal 1 and are publicly pushing for it to go to a vote.

I know what Gerry meandering is. We don't have it in Iowa.

Here is a map. All districts will have about 800,000-900,000 people if I remember right and the difference between districts is less than 1,000 people.

Under the current proposal district 4 is very Republican, District 3 is very Democratic due to Des Moines, District 1 leans Democratic and district 2 is a swing district.

My point was that if the only criterion was headcount, the system is open to manipulation. Please don't be offended but I had no idea that there even was a gold standard when it came to redistricting, much less that it was Iowa. I grew where political corruption is a way of life for some people and it seems that it's the same where I now live. I beg pardon for my cynicism.

Most states have political corruption. I agree with you. I'm not offended. I was just explaining how Iowa works.

    The map is pretty interesting.

I was pretty much an entrenched Independent in those days. After Watergate and Iran-Contra I didn't get too upset about a blow job.

I try to tie Benedict Donald's name to January 6th every chance I get; it's the only relevance he deserves.

I'll trust a millionaire who became a politician before I trust a politician that became a millionaire.

Of course he does January 6th, like Pearl Harbor, lives forever in the American psyche as a day of infamy

Well, as I've provided many links for, the 2020 riots were instigated by anarchists from across the political spectrum, especially from the right and had little to do with BLM.

He’s still better than Biden who can’t even coherently answer a reporters questions. We have illegal immigration going through the roof. Allies pulling their representatives from the states. We look extraordinarily weak after the Afghanistan debacle. Not sure anything good has came out of this guy.

What are you talking about? I started my adult life as a Republican, Republicans (Nixon, Reagan and Dubya) converted me to be a Independent. A Republican (Romney) got me to vote Democrat and a RINO (tRump) made me an entrenched Democrat.

When Hillary lost in 2016 I don’t remember a violent crew of imbeciles carrying Hillary signs which were used to batter policemen attacking the US Congress, the US Senate and VP Biden for refusing to hand her the election, do you? I also don’t remember her holding phony one party State Legislature hearings at Holiday Inns across the country pressuring state officials to throw out 100,000s of votes, do you? Did she make threatening calls to Secretary of State’s telling them to find 11,000 votes in order to swing electoral votes to change the outcome of an election? Did she try to twist Biden’s arm when he was VP to get him to ignore the state certified EC votes in order to hand her (THE LOSER) the election?

The reality is that Trump did ALL of those things and she did NONE of them. Neither did Al Gore who was the VP who refused to bring any of the complaints of Democratic Congressmen or women to debate when he counted the State certified EC votes in an election where he won the popular vote and only lost the EC by 2 votes as a direct result of losing Florida by a couple hundred votes in a State where his opponent’s brother was Governor and the Secretary of State was a total political hack who happened to be his campaign chair in the state.

Your assertion that Democrats are hell bent for leather and trying to destroy the constitution for the past three decades is laughable. Especially as a Trump supporter. Trump did everything he could to piss on the US Constitution in his four years in office up until he skulked out kicking and screaming like a screaming 10 year old brat then refused to even attend the inauguration. Who has ever done that! Before that, he tried to bribe a foreign leader into trashing his opponent. He used his lackey AG as a cudgel against political opponents and a de facto defense lawyer for his crooked friends. He used his pardon power to release a bunch of convicted felons who were really co defendants in his criminal administration and campaign...Stone, Bannon, Manafort, Flynn...Do you realize how ridiculous you attack is? Come on Rod, you are better than that.

Yeah we can trade those all day long. The point is public speaking is a mine field. President Biden is no worse than anyone. Some people are great at it. President Biden and tRump aren't.
