    Death penalty.

    Three way simultaneously death penalty.

These subhuman pieces of feral **** need to be tried, they need to be convicted, and then they need to be injected with that special go-to-hell concoction while their eyes are forcefully held open so they can be made to stare at a picture of the women (and probably child) they killed.

This better not turn into another one of those bullshit "affluenza" cases like that ****wad Ethan Couch.

No, the only way justice will be satisfied is when these three degenerates flat-line.

People who drive recklessly are no better than any gang banger or child rapist.

They're all ****ing scum and we'll all be better of without them.

That’s an over the top statement and you know it.

If that’s the case, 9 out of 10 males are all guilty since they all (myself included) did some jackass stuff behind the wheel as teens.

A few months ago 3 Muslim students moved into the house across the street from me, one of them claims to be wealthy and just got his brand new '18 Corvette because his '16 was too old. Anyway, he screams up and down the road and told my son he would like to take him racing. When I asked him where he would do that he said 'right on the street.' I asked him if he was worried about the police stopping him because around here they're pretty aggressive with the speeding tickets, and he said he wasn't because his old man is a big shot. When I asked him what would happen if he had a front tire blow out while speeding like a mad man, he said he wasn't worried about it.

Gross reckless driving was the implication.

People who do 50+ in a 20, people who ignore school bus stops, people who fly through parking lots, people who tail other cars within inches on the highway and the people who brake check them.

I stand by my statement, those people can go **** off and die for all I care just as long as they don't take anyone else with them which is the all to common outcome of such behavior.

Its so easy to drive safe, only limited intelligence and limitless arrogance prevent it.

    Death Penalty? No Way.

It is absurd to compare the stupid thing these kids did with being a child rapist as there was absolutely no malice involved.

From what I know of this incident these kids impulsively did a stupid & selfish thing, That's it.

I doubt that there are many penalties that could equal the guilt & shame felt by these kids for the rest of their lives.

The death penalty is reserved for intentional murder with malice aforethought, at this day and age.

This would be reckless homicide. Unless you're saying there is evidence they intentionally swerved into the victims?

Perhaps leaving a copy of this article on his door can't hurt.

In Vegas, they open up the drag strip to anyone with $10.00. Where I live, there are racetracks open to the public.

These men are guilty of murder and should be made an example of. In addition to cracking down, alternatives need to be made available to keep racing off the streets.

I stand by my statement 100%.

They intentionally raced their vehicles down a public street, and the malice was putting their selfish desires to act like hardasses over public safety.

I stand by my statement 100%.

And that's what it was, my opinion.

But also note that I didn't say that due process should be ignored.

From my OP: "they need to be tried, they need to be convicted".

There is (at least one) a track very close to Tampa that is open to the public.

I don't know how old you are which is none of my business but I can't think of anyone who hasn't done something stupid, especially at that age, that could have resulted in the death or injury of themselves or someone else.

Yes, their action was selfish & stupid but that doesn't mean the kids, themselves are selfish & stupid.

I worked in the Juvenile Justice system for almost 10 years & dealt with adolescents who had done things similar to this. Some showed little remorse & blamed the victim but some were traumatized exhibiting guilt, shame & remorse presumably for the rest of their lives.
You can't judge these kids without knowing their reactions

It’s close to it for sure. There’s always some goody nerd type of “male” who’s never driven over the speed limit even as a teen though.

More example of people's freedom being constrained because they live in a high density area with lots of people. When you're living in that situation, all sorts of things you do could easily impact other people.

There are many rural parts of the U.S. where there are no people around for miles, and they could easily have street raced with virtually zero probability of hitting anyone.

I do feel sympathetic to towards the street racers, but Tampa Florida is a high density population area, and there are reasons for these types of laws. An accidental death, but caused by reckless circumstances to some degree.

That's because you don't understand how intentional conduct recklessness and negligence work.

Intentional murder is I'm doing something I KNOW will kill or harm someone and which I fully intend to kill or harm THAT PERSON right there. This is not that

Amazing how how routine carnage suddenly becomes urgent.

How about this drunk guy speeding kills an entire family of three while he gets scrapes?

To make it extra-special for the family, chances are good they may well got to got to burn alive together!

No death penalty with torture for him?

Time to enact sensible driving laws. Relatives, ex girlfriends, wifes ex husbands etc ought to be able to report people who are potential reckless drivers. Then after that the reporting we can take their license until we are sure they arent threats to public safety. Who thinks this is a bad idea?

A track day is usually $150.00. Just look at what their stupidity cost.

    Probably true.

When I was a teen, I got into a bit of a car chase on Halloween night with a buddy of mine. While that was a very long time ago, I still shudder at the complete stupidity of my actions that night. I'm serious when I say the memory still horrifies me to this day, and this was almost 50 years ago. It was Halloween night! There were kids and families about going trick or treating! And I didn't give that a single thought......

Kids do incredibly stupid things. I know, because I did them.

In the end, justice must prevail, no matter how sorry someone is.
