If one third of the public doesn't read the label then, that's THEIR choice and it's on them entirely, since they were informed via the label of the content and THEY chose to eat it anyway.

I want the option of knowing what is in what I may eat. Everything else is labeled. Why is this mystery fish exempt?

I agree. We don't know for sure the effects that genetically engineered products have and people should have the option of knowing what they are eating. It's the matter of making an informed decision. Even if it goes unnoticed and disregarded by the vast majority, it should be labeled for those who do want to know.

The Subway Sandwich is killing Kaliningrad! Why would anybody buy seperated bread, meat, etc. when they can buy the insanely flavoured concoction of fake bread, fake meat, fake cheese, fake sauce, with fake syrup tonics water for 69 Rubles with a bag of (*)(*)(*)(*)ing crisps!! It is insane!! They are cost undercutting the market with their miracle meat, and the whole (*)(*)(*)(*)ing industry will conform around ARTIFICIAL US STYLE FOOD PUTRIVES!!!! Oooooaaaaaagggggghhhhh!!!!

Myself I think it tastes disgusting but the teenage population is treating it like its made of opium!!! Aaaaoooooooooogggghhhh!!!!!

Well, the teenage population thinks 5 hour blasts of chemicals are good too but, they're teenagers and they do teenage things like being influenced by their elders so, at least they have an excuse.

Maybe if you wouldn't spend so much time whining to Americans who see you as a joke and instead tried educating the teenagers in your own country then you wouldn't have this problem. Just a thought, please continue amusing me with your rants. 1...2...3...Go!

Just curious... What is the story by the flag of Djibouti on your post regalia? Are you a British stationed there?

GM food is based on ignorance and fear mongering.

As someone leaving their teenage years shortly, I resent this generalization. I don't find these highly processed and artificially flavored foods to be appetizing or healthy. I am no stranger to caffeine, but I don't see 5 Hour Energy as a healthy option. It's not just teenagers who frequent these cheaper alternatives. Adults are just as guilty when it comes to going to fast food chains and choosing the cheaper option.

70,584 people have signed the Whitehouse petition (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/pe...ng-genetically-engineered-foods-gmos/nkWHZ2Vm) to require mandatory labeling of US genetically engineered foodstuffs.

In fact it's on the Top 10 list of all petitions supplied to the Whitehouse.

If the US Government simply did all of the 10 most wanted petitions very year, it wouldn't be such a horrible (*)(*)(*)(*)ing country. It would be a country where people felt like they mattered and weren't just lambs being led to the slaughter.

You had a valid point there are MANY people of all years who do not understand the importance of health, or the fact that they dwell on a poisonous landscape intent on killing them, sickening thm, and stealing their mo ye, livelihood, and well being at every opportunity while inducing the police to crack down on them hard or the slightest transgressions.

If this young man understands that... That health is important, etc. then kudos to him he will grow to be healthy no doubt. Sadly there are many who will not.

The human organism LIKES sugar, salt, fat, tobacco, alcohol, and opium. None of those things are good for people. The US Governmnt has always sided with the corporation's greedy desire to sicken the people.

Yes, this young woman does understand the importance of health and nutrition. I agree that the government has sided with corporations time and time again, at the expense of the people. Unfortunately, it would seem money takes precedence over the well being of the public in that respect. But how to go about fixing this and making the changes necessary remains an unresolved problem.

The cancer has overtaken the host. I doubt it's even possible to fix it at this point.

Um corporations don't like it when you die. Dead people don't buy anything. You know what a focus group is? Corporations were using them long before politicians jumped on the band wagon. Any thing is bad for you if you eat it and eat alone anything is bad for you if you ingest too much and exercise to little.

Moderation and exercise are key for a healthy diet, I agree. I was trying to say that in not making food corporations label genetically engineered food, the government is impairing the public's ability to make informed decisions about their food consumption. I admit that not everyone actually cares, but for those who do, this is a serious problem.

I can never eat USA Salmon again. For a country that boasts about freedom and choice, the USA is sure indistinguishable from an evil elitist tyranny. The (*)(*)(*)(*)ing country doesn't even listen to its people. There is a list of top 10 petitions to the Whitehouse and they are doing none of them! Labeling GM food is one of those very petitions that has reached significant signatures (compared to all other petitions), but the US Government is by and for the CORPORATIONS as people. They are in violation of the constitutional contract by their evil redefinition of words and perversion of founding principles!! EXPLOITATION! EXPLOITATION! The US Government is exploiting the US people!!

People would eat feces if their corporate masters slapped a pretty sticker on it and put "NEW" on the package. Just don't ask them to list the ingredients. That's prohibited.

The ingredients are already listed on everything you buy. It's a federal law. You are wanting them to least stuff that doesn't matter and makes no difference. Except, of course, to loons and their followers.

Oh and for what it is worth human beings are mortal. We ahve more cancer and heart disease because we have less bubonic plague, diptheria, and Cholera.
