The 47th full week of 2022 showed a increase in +cases but a drop in +deaths. As to the increase in +cases, we are likely now at the beginning of a winter wave, with 40 out of 87 tracked nations now surging forward and of them, 8 are of the top 10 in the total case rankings, the exceptions being India and Germany. Of course, if testing drys up to practically nothing, we could still have a really massive wave but not see it on paper. Japan is most definitely on the rise and likely to exceed +1,000,000 cases per week within the next 2 weeks.

    THE TOP-87 TABLES: CASES

    Here by total cases, descending:

The 87 nations I am tracking accounted for 97.69% of all worldwide cases and 96.56% of all deaths during the week being analysed, almost identical to the week before. This is how stable the tracking is.

    Here sorted by +cases / +avg cases:

The calendar week being analysed saw 0 countries with over +1,000,000 +cases or with with an average of over +100,000 cases per day and only 8 had over +100,000 new cases while 9 had an average in +5-digits, exactly in the week before. 5 nations reported no new statistics at all, 4 less than the week before.

Here the same 85-nation list, sorted by growth rate:

The worldwide growth-rate in +cases during the calendar week being analysed ticked upward to +0.47% (it was +0.37% the week before), with said growth rate tracked between Guatemala/Singapore and Gemany (ranks 19-21).

    Here, by trend:

We ended the calendar week being analysed with 31 nations at a plateau (the week before it was 37). 40 nations are now surging forward (the week before it was 22), a considerable jump over the week before, leaving us with only 16 nations that show their +cases receding (last week it was 28 ). So, yeah, a surge is now definitely underway.

We now have 4 weeks and 6 days (34 days) until the end of 2022 and exactly 5 weeks until the end of CW-52, almost all of which will be within 2022.

PANAMA EXCEEDED 1,000,000 TOTAL COVID-19 CASES ON 2022-11-029, 71st NATION TO DO SO

Yesterday, Tuesday, 2022-11-0293, PANAMA exceeded the 1,000,000-mark.

    2022-11-029 Covid-19 Panama exceeds 1,000,000 total C19 cases - Worldometer - closeup.png

    Here the WorldOMeter countries table:

    2022-11-029 Covid-19 Panama exceeds 1,000,000 total C19 cases - Worldometer table.png

Since Panama did not jump the 1,000,000-fence on a Sunday, there would usually not be an excel table excerpt for this quick analysis. However, since Panama has been reporting only once per week for the last 32 weeks, always on a Tuesday, I have input the values from yesterday on the table as if it is already this coming Sunday and am more than sure that when Sunday comes, this figure will not have changed. This is proven by the fact that the +values in my excel table are exactly the same as the +values only from yesterday. Take a look for yourself:

    2022-11-029 Covid-19 Panama exceeds 1,000,000 total C19 cases - excel table.png

You can clearly see from the table that Panama is in the middle of a surge.

Panama's values are absolutely final; that nation has never once revised its numbers after publishing.

Panama's current C19 case total represents 22.53% of that country's total population.

Here the millions-club table in updated form:

    2022-11-029 Covid-19 Panama exceeds 1,000,000 total C19 cases - millions table.png

With Panama's entrance into the million-club, that makes for the 29th nation that has crossed over the million mark during 2022 and the 71st overall, broken down as follows:

18 nations in 2020; 24 nations in 2021 and now within the first 9 months of 2022, we have added 29 such nations thus far.

It should be noted that 4 nations are currently between 900,000-1,000,000 cases: Belarus, Uruguay, Mongolia & Latvia. Belarus has now been stuck at 994,037 cases for the last 21 weeks in a row whilst Uruguay and Mongolia are both less than -17,000 away from this marker. It is likely that at least 2 of these 4 nations will join the millions club by the end of this year, perhaps all of them.

    Life comes at us fast.

So, I am collecting the data for CW-48 and we will definitely have more +cases worldwide, around +800,000 more than last week.

However, 390,000 of those +800,000 cases come from the Czech Republic, also known as Czechia, which published some eye-popping totals. First, the current totals from WorldOmeter:

    2022-12-004 Covid-19 CZECHIA 000 - Worldometer table as well.png

And here the excel table with the current data:

    2022-12-004 Covid-19 CZECHIA 000 - EXAMPLE.png

I did not list a date on these screenshots yet as Czechia will update those figures ever so slightly at least 3 times until Tuesday morning. If you look at the testing statistics, the average +tests per day increased only somewhat, not even remotely commensurate with this kind of +case figure. So, I must assume as happened with Türkiye on 2020-12-010, where that nation added about +1 million in one day, that what we are seeing is a paperwork backlog, likely out of some harder-to-reach rural areas in Czechia. I do not believe that this sudden jump is a sign of a horrific surge because as you can see, the deaths only rose slightly. Sometimes these things happen.

But even without Czechia's +390,000 cases, we would still be seeing at least +400,000 more cases this week over the week before, so a number of nations are most verifiably surging ahead.

Two nations have frozen their statistics for 11 and 6 solid weeks now, respectively, and those two border on each other: Jordan and the Palestinian Territories.

Many nations with sizeable populations are at a plateau, but with extremely low +numbers, for instance Pakistan und Bangladesh, so those extremely low numbers are, in relation to the population, pretty much a sign of a statistic that is slowing being frozen to nothing.

Where things are exploding is in Japan, also in +deaths, unfortunately. Japan is within the top 10 and it looks very much as if 8 of the top 10 will be registering a surge, the exceptions being India and South Korea. But South Korea's statistic is deceptive. It had only a slight decline, down to about +371,000 from the circa+379,000 cases in CW-47. Hong Kong is also still on the rise and were China to actually be honest with it's statistics, then I assume that that nation would be at about 400,000,000 cases right now, about 4 times the USA, but of course, as always, communists lie. Nothing new there.

The real thing facing me is to decide if a surge that may be barely recorded or even noticed is worth my time to continue reporting in 2023.

Therefore, I am tending strongly to letting these statistics slowly grind to a halt and will probably move to just seven big analyses next year: Q1, Q2 and Half-year, Q3, Q4 and full-year for the worldwide data and just one yearly report for my homeland, the USA. It's going to probably end up being this.

I would still generally report on things like nations that jump of the 1,000,000-mark and things like that, but I myself am growing weary of this project.

However, those who read this thread can feel free to give their input on this as you have also contributed much to this gargantuan thread.

@Falena - would you be amenable to closing this thread in the middle of January, 2024, in about 13 months from now?

    Greets to all,

I have reconsidered your request. First, I talked to St. Nickolaus and he told me you were a very, very naughty boy. Therefore, you may not go outside. You are not ready for what the World now has to offer.

Please stay in your prepper basement, where it is nice and safe.

Mind you, I am doing this for your good and for no other reason!

It ends up that not only did Czechia record a sudden backlog increase, but rather, Paraguay did as well:

    2022-12-004 Covid-19 PARAGUAY 000 - EXAMPLE.png

+59,361 is by far the highest weekly total for Paraguay ever, it's highest figure before this was +39,832 in CW-04 but as you can see, Paraguay has listed no new testing numbers, ergo, this is probably a rural backlog that finally was recorded in the system.

I suspect that we will be seeing more of this as nations decide how to father treat their respective Covid-19 statistics.

    2022-12-004 Covid-19 WORLDWIDE 000.png

The 48th full week of 2022 showed a substantial increase in +cases and a nominal increase in +deaths. As to the increase in +cases, we are likely now at the beginning of a winter wave, with 66 out of 87 tracked nations either surging ahead or still at a plateau, including 8 of the top 10 nations in the total case rankings.

However, It still remains to be seen if the avalanche of +cases we saw begin around this time in 2021 will appear or not, depending on whether countries continue testing. One the one hand, the USA reached it's highest daily testing average sind the last week of Q3, 2022. On the other hand, nations like the Palestinian Territories and Jordan seem to have completely frozen their statistics and other nations like Cuba or Tunisia are registering less than the drop on the bucket on a weekly basis. However, Japan is in the middle of a sizeable wave and is also testing alot, so the correlation between +cases and upscale testing cannot be denied. Wait and see.

The 49th full week of 2022 showed a very slight decrease in +cases but a sizeable increase in +deaths. This back and forth see-saw is due to some nations reporting huge numbers one week and then freezing the statistic for a number of weeks. That being said, I am seeing signs of a number of nations preparing to publish end-statistics and be done with it, no matter what kind of winter wave comes. As in the last weeks, Japan is way out front, but a number of countries thoughout North, Middle and South America are showing increases, regardless of nothern or southern hemisphere. If a bear craps in the woods but no one hears it...

    THE TOP-87 TABLES: CASES

    Here by total cases, descending:

The 87 nations I am tracking accounted for 97.70% of all worldwide cases and 96.57% of all deaths during the week being analysed, almost identical to the week before. This is how stable the tracking is.

    Here sorted by +cases / +avg cases:

The calendar week being analysed saw 1 country with an average of over +100,000 +cases (Japan) and 9 countries had over +100,000 new cases. 8 nations reported no new statistics at all, 3 more than the week before.

Here the same 87-nation list, sorted by growth rate:

The worldwide growth-rate in +cases during the calendar week being analysed plateau's +0.58% (it was +0.59% the week before), with said growth rate tracked identically by Brazil (rank 17). Brazil has now tracked this growth rate for the 2nd week in a row.

    Here, by trend:

We ended the calendar week being analysed with 31 nations at a plateau (the week before it was 28 ). 34 nations are now surging forward (the week before it was 38 ), a considerable jump over the week before, leaving us with only 22 nations that show their +cases receding (last week it was 21). So, yeah, a surge is now definitely underway.

We now have 2 weeks and 6 days (20 days) until the end of 2022 and exactly 3 weeks until the end of CW-52, almost all of which will be within 2022.

    JAPAN & URUGUAY

As I wrote in the analysis above, Japan is still way ahead of the pack and although a number of nations are not really that interesting in Covid-19 stats, Japan is testing like crazy and finding oodles of cases:

    2022-12-013 Covid-19 Japan closing in on plus 200,000 cases.png

That's the highest +cases for Japan in a very long time. Japan is most definitely in the middle of a big wave and if every nation were to test as Japan is testing, I suspect that we would be seeing numbers like this all over the place. But... if a bear craps in the woods but no one hears or sees it... I think you get the drift....

Also, Uruguay has now surpassed Byelorußland (Belarus) and is now less than -2,000 away from the million mark, will likely go over in exactly one week from today and will be the 72nd nation on earth to do this. Uruguay's population is less than 4,000,000.....

MONGOLIA EXCEEDED 1,000,000 TOTAL COVID-19 CASES ON 2022-12-015, 72nd NATION TO DO SO

I really thought that Uruguay would go first but today, 2022-12-015, MONGOLIA made a surprise +case jump and therefore exceeded the 1,000,000-mark:

    2022-12-015 Mongolia exceeds 1,000,000 total C-19 cases - closeup.png

    Here the WorldOMeter countries table:

    2022-12-015 Mongolia exceeds 1,000,000 total C-19 cases - worldometer table.png

Although Mongolia is the 72nd nation on earth to reach this marker, it is already rank 71 in the total case rankings as it's +case load shot it way past Nepal.

Since Mongolia did not jump the 1,000,000-fence on a Sunday, there would usually not be an excel table excerpt for this quick analysis. However, since Mongolia has been reporting only once per week for the last 40+ weeks, usually on a Thursday, I have input the values from today on the table as if it is already this coming Sunday and am more than sure that when Sunday comes, this figure will not have changed. Mongolia also changed it's figures retroactively back to at least Tuesday, but the data upload occured early this morning. I read the WorldOmeter's table twice a day, morning and evening, to stay on the up and up.

    2022-12-015 Mongolia exceeds 1,000,000 total C-19 cases.png

It is unlikely that Mongolia is in the middle of a surge, but rather, that that nation is cleaning up its statistics and preparing to close down its C19-count. That is what my gut is telling me.

Mongolia's current C19 case total represents 29.81% of that country's total population.

Here the millions-club table in updated form:

    2022-12-015 Mongolia exceeds 1,000,000 total C-19 cases - millions table.png

With Mongolia's entrance into the million-club, that makes for the 30th nation that has crossed over the million mark during 2022 and the 72nd overall, broken down as follows:

18 nations in 2020; 24 nations in 2021 and now within the first 11.5 months of 2022, we have added 30 such nations thus far.

It should be noted that 3 nations are currently between 900,000-1,000,000 cases: Uruguay, Belarus, & Latvia. Belarus has frozen it's total at 994,037 cases for the last 24 weeks in a row whilst Uruguay is now less than -2,000 away from this marker. Latvia is likely too far away from the 1,000,000-mark to get their within this year, but very likely it will get there by mid-February 2023. I strongly suspect that Uruguay will pass the million-mark next week and then this rubrik will be complete for 2022.

Very early this year I noted that I thought we would end the year with about 75 nations over the million-fence, so my prediction was pretty darned accurate!

    Life comes at us fast.

Soooo, all of the data for 2020-12-018 has been input and screenshotted but it is very late here and I am wiped-out from a massive amount of work.

Therefore, the analysis that I usually publish on Tuesdays will come out on Wednesday, 2022-12-021.

The 50th full week of 2022 showed a statistically significant increase in both +cases and +deaths. Japan rose over +1,000,000 cases in one week, far surpassing all other nations. A great number of nations updated their testing statistics for the first time in a while. At the same time, more and more nations appear to be freezing their statistics: Turkey, Iran, N. Korea, Jordan, Kuwait, Dominican Republic, Palestine and Moldova. Those two pieces or information are leading me more and more to believe that many nations are planning to close down their statistics or reduced them to a drop in the bucket at New Year. And yet, in spite of that, a wave is still underway, only, it is being ignored in many corners. If a bear craps in the woods and no one sees or hears it...

URUGUAY EXCEEDED 1,000,000 TOTAL COVID-19 CASES ON 2022-12-019, 73rd NATION TO DO SO

On Monday, 2022-12-019, right at the beginning of CW-51, URUGUAY exceeded the 1,000,000-mark:

    2022-12-019 Covid-19 Uruguay exceeds 1,000,000 total C19 cases - closeup.png

    Here the WorldOMeter countries table:

    2022-12-019 Covid-19 Uruguay exceeds 1,000,000 total C19 cases - worldometer table.png

Although URUGUAY is the 73rd nation on earth to reach this marker, it is already rank 72 in the total case rankings as it's +case load shot it past Nepal.

Since URUGUAY did not jump the 1,000,000-fence on a Sunday, there would usually not be an excel table excerpt for this quick analysis. However, since Uruguay has mostly been reporting only once per week for the last 40+ weeks, I have input the values from today on the table as if it is already this coming Sunday and am pretty sure that when Sunday comes, this figure will not have changed:

    2022-12-019 Covid-19 Uruguay exceeds 1,000,000 total C19 cases - excel table.png

It is very likely that Uruguay is in the middle of a surge, however, that economically poor nation has not updated its testing statistics in like forever, it may be planning to close its statistics in spite of a measurable upward trend in +cases ever since CW-45.

Uruguay's current C19 case total represents 28.69% of that country's total population, which tracks pretty closely to Mongolia's 29.81% of the same just four days before.

Here the millions-club table in updated form:

    2022-12-019 Covid-19 Uruguay exceeds 1,000,000 total C19 cases - millions table.png

With Uruguay's entrance into the million-club, that makes for the 31st nation that has crossed over the million mark during 2022 and the 73rd overall, broken down as follows:

18 nations in 2020; 24 nations in 2021 and now closing in on the end 2022, we have added 31 such nations thus far.

Latvia is likely too far away from the 1,000,000-mark to get their within this year, but very likely it will get there by mid-February 2023. Unless Belarus does a surprise update at the very end of 2022, it looks as if we will close out 2022 with 73 total nations in the million-club.

Very early this year I noted that I thought we would end the year with about 75 nations over the million-fence, so my prediction was pretty darned accurate!

China is very troubling. That many cases open the door for mutations.
Their vaccine sucks and they are not open for Western mRNA vaccines.

    WHO????????????????????????
The German Government negotiated with the Chinese Government the permission to vaccinate Germans in China with the BioNtech Vaccine.
That vaccine has no UA in China, not even EUA, that vaccine was not available in China, not permitted.
Now if you live and work in China and have a German Passport, you can get vaccinated with the BioNtech vaccine.
That must be a gigantic relieve for those folks.
Additional Germany and BioNtech are negotiating a EUA with China, which is rather difficult, because China wants the technology and neither BioNtech nor Germany want to give away the technology.
The question will be, how many millions have to die till China caves in.
