I'm one of the two which voted yes, and I must admit that I just did it because of a kind of political activism, "political trolling", just using the ideology of the ennemy against them.
The death of Robespierre, painfull part of history from my point of view. It's one, maybe my favorite political figure. I'm not sure it's the good thing to do than to troll in a political way. I'm quite tired of leftists used "fascist" and "-phobe" constantly, using insults to intimidate their political opponents. There is maybe a short term satisfaction in that, but in the long term, I'm not sure. I always hesitate between two stances : considering that society as doomed anyway and doing nothing or maybe even trying to accelerate that downfall, or trying to discuss. I clearly don't have any hope of any improvement from a political point of view. Everything is rotten from the newspapers to the political life. Gay and transexual aren't the problem, but clearly the leftist morality totalitarist trend will create more problems. That new leftist totalitarianism may be worrying, but the worst for me would remain the financial mafia. But clearly, the one which affect that kind of morality don't have a lot of time left, when the european nobility started to wear wigs and heels, they were already doomed, when the romans started to rely on barbaric people, "foedus", they had few time left. What could we says over a civilization that almost doesn't produce anything anymore and rely excessively on oil and chinese cheap workfroce ?
Kind of like deciding that I am really a deadly virus so I can kill people with immunity. It is OK with me if men want to wish they are women. It is not OK for them to take advantage of women's sports because they are BIOLOGICALLY faster and stronger than women. Only partisanship can call that fair.
