That's the biggest load of crap that I have ever heard. Have you ever actually researched the topic or better yet, had conversations with anyone who is transgender?

Again, that is a load of crap and contrary to all historical evidence. Many, particularly within in the academic world, find the use of our modern labels as problematic, owing to differences in the ways that different societies constructed sexual orientation identities and to the connotations of modern words like queer. In many societies, especially ancient societies, same-sex sex acts were expected, or completely ignored, and no identity was constructed on their basis at all.

Why would I have a conversation with someone who is confused about who they are? That is like me asking if I have ever had a conversation with a serial rapist, and saying because I have not had said conversation with a serial rapist, I do not know that being a serial rapist is inordinate behavior. You make absolutely no sense. That is like saying that because I have never eaten possum, it is wrong or preposterous to conclude that possum is not good to eat because possums are scavengers and rodents. Completely illogical.

gender is a psychosis, with the exception of anatomy, there is no difference between the genders.

the child is not choosing a gender, but an anatomy of its own desire.

What historical evidence are you relying on. As for "modern academics finding the use of labels as problematic, that in itself is utter none sense. Many of your vaunted academicians label people who have points of view that differ from theirs as naive, archaic, prejudiced, bigoted, narrow-minded, etc. Stop the bait and switch routine and present concrete evidence that states that being transgender is not a by-product of severe identity crisis. If you are born with a penis, you are a male. If you are born with a vagina, you are a female. If you are born with both genders (a rare occurrence), the parents choose a gender designation for said child.

Ignoring all the transgender children whose parents didn't desire them to transition and later killed themselves when they couldn't take it anymore (Leelah Alcorn, Zander Mahaffrey, etc.)

Comparing someone who is trans to a serial rapist or a possum pretty much answers the question. I also asked if you had done actual research on the topic. Not right-wing propaganda but actual research. If you had, you would find that you are completely wrong. However, I know you won't because people who hold the views that you do in the antagonistic and misinformed fashion that you do seek only information that back your own narrow minded theories.

So parents can "choose" a gender and there is zero chance that the child will reject that gender? What happens if said child grows up and instead of feeling as though they are male (because that is what parents chose) they feel they are female? What say you then? Again, you try doing the research.

"the state of personally identifying as, or being identified by society as, a man, a woman, or other, is usually also defined by the individual's gender identity and gender role in the particular culture in which they live. Not all cultures have strictly defined gender roles.

In different cultures, a third or fourth gender may represent very different things. To the Indigenous Māhū of Hawaii, it is an intermediate state between man and woman, or to be a "person of indeterminate gender". The traditional Dineh of the Southwestern US acknowledge four genders: feminine woman, masculine woman, feminine man, masculine man.The term "third gender" has also been used to describe hijras of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan who have gained legal identity, fa'afafine of Polynesia, and sworn virgins of the Balkans. Larger Western communities such as the North American Indigenous cultures that have roles for Two Spirit people.

In some non-Western cultures, gender is not binary and one can cross freely between male and female. This is seen as a mediation between the spirit and mundane worlds. It is seen as a positive and is almost revered in most Eastern cultures.

In Africa, a woman can be recognized as a “female husband” who enjoys all of the privileges of men and is recognized as such, but whose femaleness, while not openly acknowledged, is not forgotten either. The hijras, of India, are one of the most recognized and socially accepted groups of third genders. This may be a result of the notion of reincarnation, which reduces not only gender categorization but also sex and species, allowing for more fluid and mutable categorization. There are countless other cultures in which the third gender is seen as an intermediate being rather than as a movement from one conventional sex to the other, either male to female or vice versa.

In Mesopotamian mythology, among the earliest written records of humanity, there are references to types of people who are not men and not women. In a Sumerian creation myth found on a stone tablet from the second millennium BC, the goddess Ninmah fashions a being "with no male organ and no female organ", for whom Enki finds a position in society: "to stand before the king". In the Akkadian myth of Atra-Hasis (ca. 1700 BC), Enki instructs Nintu, the goddess of birth, to establish a “third category among the people” in addition to men and women, that includes demons who steal infants, women who are unable to give birth, and priestesses who are prohibited from bearing children. In Babylonia, Sumer and Assyria, certain types of individuals who performed religious duties in the service of Inanna/Ishtar have been described as a third gender. They worked as sacred prostitutes or Hierodules, performed ecstatic dance, music and plays, wore masks and had gender characteristics of both women and men. In Sumer, they were given the cuneiform names of ur.sal ("dog/man-woman") and kur.gar.ra (also described as a man-woman).

Inscribed pottery shards from the Middle Kingdom of Egypt (2000–1800 BCE), found near ancient Thebes (now Luxor, Egypt), list three human genders: tai (male), sḫt ("sekhet") and hmt (female).

I can keep going if you want. Again, research. It is a beautiful thing.

Still doesn't justify using the government to interfere in the private medical lives of individuals.

Facile approach to a complex problem that requires more than just simplistic labeling of male/female.

Onus is entirely on YOU to prove that a "severe identity crisis" does NOT manifest itself according to the diagnoses of highly trained professionals.

It's clear it's not going to end with the "I identify as X" thing but oh well so long as it doesn't harm themselves or other's it's none of my business. I do have my concerns though as a liberal friend of mine told me a story of a person that wanted to be blind so they made it happen by harming themselves but said that should be fine as that is what they wanted to identify as.

I wanted to drop the F bomb on something that frankly screwed up but I instead just said that is when I would have sent the person in for treatment because it's just not okay to promote self harm.

If any liberals ever really promote identifying as thing's that actually bring physical harm to people I will call them out on it. Because that is very wrong and I won't just sit there letting them pray on people just so they can add them as a darn identify as XYZ thing.

Just to be clear I don't really care if someone wants to claim there a cat and in there house act's like one, but I do care if they say they want to cut there arm off to be a one handed person or bleach there eyes to become blind. Those people need and should get help for there mental condition. It is NEVER okay to promote and celebrate people desiring physical self harm just to identify as whatever it might be they claim they want to be.

I have no idea what I'd do if ever faced with this issue, the thing that makes me support parents of transgender children is the fact that my own children were very gender specific at an early age. At 2 to 3 they were already displaying behaviour and preferences typical of their sex, in what they liked to wear, how they behaved, their interests, how they played and what they played with, even in the books they wanted me to read to them.

Having said that I do think you should at least wait till 13/14 years of age to even start a transition, never mind surgery, simply because of the magnitude of the decision, the repercussions of surgery as well as the potential side effects of hormone therapy.

gender is a societal construct often used to establish alpha and beta people, or within subgroups of gender like alpha or beta males.

in the animal kingdom the alphas have control because might makes right there, the human kingdom is also ruled by might makes right, but betas are often mistaken for not having the potential of might due to the psychosis of gender.

many of these false betas are often oppressed due to this psychosis of society.

You ignore the fact that the mind and body (anatomy) are related, so of course there are gender differences outside of anatomy.

    Alright, Judith Butler, that's enough!

"Alphas", "betas", "animal kingdom"...Thought you just said it was a social construct!?

Not really. Ancient greek society had normalized bisexuality. The vehement hatred of homosexuality is largely a product of Abrahamic religions.

Have you been reading Lacan lately? Your use of the word psychosis reminds me of his.

the animal kingdom and human kingdom share similar social constructs like might makes right.

that is putting the cart before the horse, anatomy is not suppose to determine how individuals think.

lacan was described as a sadistic narcissist by feminists, my use of the word psychosis was intended to encourage mercy for oppressed transgender kids, who are assumed to be betas by the social construct of gender and denied their freedom.

Why did you leave out the part that it only happens when it is determined that the parents are the cause of harm to minors?

Onus is entirely on you to prove that any parental harm is happening to minors.

Where is the expert testimony substantiating that this alleged harm is actually happening?

The human brain is not fully developed until around 18. Children experiment with all kinds of choices presented to them before they can evaluate the consequences. It is shameful that adults, with so-called fully developed brains, want to present sexual gender as an option.

Even though this whole "transgenderism" thing makes me want to puke every time it comes up, I agree with you.

So, once a person has reached the age to be considered, legally, as an adult in the state where he/she/it resides, then it should be permissible for that person to undergo the surgical processes to change his/her/its gender, and not one minute before.... :puke:
