It it WAS for a public works project and not a useless monument to folly they probably would cheer but I think most would remain concerned about HOW this is happening. It is NOT being funded through congress or the senate it is budget raiding and THAT is a precedent which everyone should be concerned about. Let us say the next thing is Trump decides we need to spend $500 billion on researching light bulbs that won’t make him look orange and wants to take it out of the military budget

Would you be happy with that?

Or let me make it a more nightmarish scenario for you

The food at the presidential debates was off and all the candidates, Trump and everyone else drop dead 3 weeks away from the election and Bernie becomes the surprise winner. He is up against a hostile senate and congress because Trump up to that point had ensured a clean sweep. Bernie wants to introduce his entire socialist agenda so is going to do what Trump has just done - raid the military budget

Would YOU boo if that happened?

Because my state votes blue, it gives the impression that the whole state is blue. I was showing that it is blue in two major urban areas, and that the booing in that crowd doesn't represent all of us.

I live in Oregon, and I can tell you that nobody puts Trump stickers on their car or shows anything that indicates that they'll vote anything but Democrat ... out of well-justified fear.

How disrespectful of the people who did so ruining what should have a been a wonderful and memorial occasion for those students who volunteered to serve in the military. The disgracefulness of the left never ceases to amaze.

You couldn't possibly be that ^ ignorant, so will just assume misplaced sarcasm instead. None of the land on the linked map is "uninhabited" or even close to it.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_counties_in_Oregon

For reference and comparison, my county in a different part of the country has about 100,000 population, three large hospitals, two private universities and one public, a Pro baseball feeder team, 100+ churches, 20 or so public and private high schools and one prestigious private boarding school... -0- "Pete the prospector" types. Adjacent counties to mine with as little as 7,000 population have similar levels of county infrastructure but on a smaller scale.

Maybe you were just fooled by all the "rural America" hate that spews out of the gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex propaganda factory daily due to people who tend to live in places like mine distrusting and not voting for the Complex, that's understandable as pervasive and credible as some of their lies are. But it's not the actual case, and now you have been educated as to that.

So you are claiming that Oregon didn't cast its electoral votes for Clinton? That's an interesting claim, please tell us more!

OK, then, I understand there were a few individual "faithless electors" in 2016 going both ways, but what whole state's popular vote was changed to the other candidate in 2016? Seriously asking, wasn't aware of any and think it would have been huge national news if something like that occurred.

    NM

Here's more than anyone would ever want to know about the phenomenon of faithless electors in U.S. Presidential election history:

Trump can expected to be booed at most stadiums. If he ever appears at a Yankees or Mets game (or pretty much any other New York venue) he'll be covered in hotdog. Even the Met crowd would throw their martinis over him, and those things are almost $20!

There are a number of states who base their EC on whoever wins the popular vote in a given district gets that district's vote. A number of red states have their maps rigged so that there are far more delegates areas which vote mostly republican, with most of the districts representing a smaller portion of the population, So Clinton could win the popular vote, but Trump would win more districts by winning the larger number of far right supporting districts. This is the basis of gerrymandering.

Oregon has a winner takes all system where the winner of the popular vte takes all delegates. Most states don;t

No one wants their car to be vandalized or to be physically harassed or assaulted. Frankly, anti-Trumpers cannot be trusted to have that information, so people here just don’t advertise it.

    OISM?

    Stopped reading there.

Please, I am begging you, stop getting your information from LW blogs and public union newsletters. A more accurate rephrase of the above is that pursuant to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, many congressional districts were redrawn to disproportionately favor minority legislative representation in compliance with the harsh requirements of that particular federal law. Those districts have remained largely unchanged over the years.

In the present, Democrats have become unhappy with the fact that demographics in those districts lead to unused votes, which, if moved into typically Republican voting districts, could turn traditionally red areas blue. SO, the true upshot is that "Republican gerrymandering" is a lie narrative attempting to conceal the very noncontroversial legislative history of the Voting Rights Act, Democrats aren't happy that they can't "redistrict on the fly" to pour Democrat votes into red voting areas while AT THE SAME TIME maintaining permanent minority representation in the "safe" minority districts existing for decades due to the Voting Rights Act. SO they lie and lie, like the inveterate, practiced liars they prove every day they are, about "Republican gerrymandering."

That's the truth, the plain, simple truth, and all the "number of red states have their maps rigged" horseshit is a lie narrative tailored to fool the simple-minded and historically ignorant.

But don't believe me? Suggest that ALL gerrymandering be removed from our politics and watch an instant, screeching cacophony of HOWLING emit from the Democrats. They no more want gerrymandering gone than the man in the moon, what they want is to LIE that Republicans set some discriminatory system up, and then LIE more until they can achieve the redistricting on the fly that is truly what they want.

Dirty Donnie and his toadies have spent the last 3 years spitting on the graves every one of the noble heroes who have died to preserve this country. Some booing at a stadium should be the least of their problems
