Trump calls for the release of 100s of his supporters arrested re: Capitol riot

I tried to warn everyone that Trump wanted a civil war and that January 6th's Capitol riot was a trial run. He's had almost two years since then to keep fanning the flames of hate and bigotry. We know this because of his track record.

He has spoken 4 times about the incarcerated rioters.

1. He said the events of January 6, 2021 were a "lovefest" between cops and rioters.
2. He said that he would give pardons to all of them if re-elected.
3. He said that he had nothing to do with their actions and distanced himself further.
4. Now, he is using the above ploy in an effort to reignite his supporters' hatred.

Any other public figure and/or his supporters, without privilege, would be permitted to continue this distrust and disinformation about our elections or place our country at risk. For all intents and purposes he is basically a Mafia boss and is using his supporters for his personal gain.

Keep in mind that Trump could have never been elected in other POTUS election because he wouldn't pass security or vetting. He was ONLY elected because his predecessor was Obama and the systemic bigotry that could see nothing beyond the color of his skin.

Bigotry should not be a reason to overlook the mountain of crimes and ethical violations Trump has committed. Nor should it be an excuse to rationalize treason. We need to figure out a way for us to co-exist with our top priorities being the longevity of our country and addressing our differences of opinion without violence.

Why should people arrested on trespassing and minor property damage still be in jail awaiting trials?

Most of the Jan6ers are being held for the crime of trespassing. I dont think they should be clogging up our jails for years for trespassing. The ones that attacked police should stay locked up.

That is not going to happen unless Trump wins in 2024 and he pardons the lot of them. But that will make a mockery of the justice system altogether and increase his cult of personality within the GOP.

 

Would you feel better if Fetterman released them? How come they’re not getting bail or a speedy trial? Murderers in NYC are out the next day.

People accused of murder in NYC are not routinely “out the next day”.
I won’t say it never happens, but people who are accused of violent felonies don’t just get released.

Here's one in today's NY Post. If this guy can bail out, then the 1/6ers should be able to get bail and they didn't murder anyone.

I don't think he will release the type of prisoners who are extremely violent. He may release those who are convicted of simple drug possession at the state level, but not the violent ones.

 

So you want the 8th amendment to be violated?

I am sure there are a ton of restrictions and conditions on that bail along with giving up collateral to make that $350k bond. Bear in mind, it was a stray bullet that killed the tourist, and thus not intentional homicide, aka 1st-degree murder. In addition, those nine prior arrests will depend on what they were and if he was convicted of those arrests. If no conviction, those arrests do not count for bail in ANY STATE of the union.

 

If el Cheapo Trump is actually paying for any rioter's defense then it's obviously for those that have evidence of how involved he and other GOP politicians actually were in their desperate attempts to stop the electoral vote.

They'll get out after they've served their time.

The bigger question is who will be in prison longer?

 

And brought home 30,000 soldiers and 3 Military bases without a single soldier being attacked for 18 months.
I wouldn't call that nothing unless you hate our military.
