And he should be. I'm not aware of any forensic in Trump counties, which means they will just cheat harder next time.

No.... I find Biden's daughter writing she took showers with her daddy as very odd and inappropriate.... Do you know what the investigation report says about it? Strange is when the FBI gets involved, yet again, to cover for Joe.....they raided the folks who did not even publish it.... The FBI does not just do that unless there is some meat on the bone. CNN was there and there was frogmen in the bay... oh wait... that was someone else..

I generally don't make assumptions about people but I did assume that you are standing on the right side of sane on that point.
No. What and/or whom was the investigation about?
What is it that you believe is being covered up about Biden? Without knowing the details yet, I would probably argue that IF they are covering up for him, they aren't doing a very good job if a has made its way around the country.
IIRC, I believe that you've posted several times saying any investigations centered around Trump were inconsequential or unimportant.

So, is your position that the FBI does or does not follow leads in investigating top elected officials and their personal lives?

Without knowing the whole backstory, this looks false to me.

The daughter the diary is said to belong to is Ashley Biden (DOB: June 8, 1981).

I find it highly unlikely that a person with a family member in the public eye would leave behind something so personal.

I also find the statement in the screenshot about her previously being in rehab out of place which calls into question the validity of everything else in the article.

Lastly, the entry itself seems strange. I don't know if the claim is she wrote that entry as a minor or as an adult. It's crazy either way. But, my hesitation comes from the fact that IF that really is her diary and she really did write that entry, there is absolutely NO way that she would carelessly leave it behind.

From a cursory look, I lean toward the theory that someone somewhere that she may have trusted stole the diary or wrote the entries and claimed the diary belonged to Ashley. I know that Trump is very good at casting doubt to confuse facts with fiction and that's how this feels to me. Her diary didn't just float its way to the other team.

Is there something you can link to that supports this diary has been authenticated?

I just clicked the first link that came up. I don't watch any news or subscribe to any newspapers. What is the "topic"? I'm assuming that it's not about her diary. That just got mingled in somewhere.

Okay. I read enough on it. The impression I get is that the Bidens and specifically, Ashley, were not the subjects of interests when the FBI became involved. There were some questions about the location of the diary and any communications relevant to the diary between Project Veritas for which I judged signed a search warrant. This action implies, to me, that the diary was obtained through illegal means and subsequent communications regarding the possession of the diary from PV to the Bidens was an attempt at some kind of extortion.

The concern I have about the validity of the diary, how it ended up in the wrong hands and the perceived "value" of its contents is still quite shaky. Ashley is 40 years old. Why on Earth would it make sense for her to hold onto a diary presumably written 20-30 years ago and if it was written more recently, why would an adult put something like that in writing? As I stated earlier, she's been a politician's offspring her whole life. It doesn't make sense that she would leave something like that behind for just anyone to pick up.

Unless you have something more substantial that lends credibility to this, I stand by my first impression that it was designed to call into question Biden's relationship with his daughter and cast doubt on his morals and values.

However, I am hard-pressed in trying to understand why Biden's questionable moral, ethical and legal actions are of grave concern but all of that gets a pass when it comes to Trump. We should be applying the same standards for **all** candidates or **none** of them.

Nobody else would ever get away with this... no wonder the Joe Biden crime family is such a mess... Drugs were probably the best way to deal with it... poor Ashley was put through some strange stuff. Just like Hunters laptop... the FBI had to go get any trace so they can hold it indefinitely for "not an investigation" and no one dare ask about what is going on about what they are doing

    Says it all....

Popscott, I understood your position the first time you posted that. What I'm trying to understand is what information lends credibility to this?

What is **it** that you think the Biden family is getting away with?

You don't have any questions about the source, credibility, veracity, etc. of this? You don't find it strange that a 40 year old woman's "diary" just showed up out of thin air?

Scenario 1: A 40 year old women who currently keeps a diary.

In #1...I'd guess that's not very common, but let's say it is.

    • Do you think a adult with no mental problems would write that in a diary and "forget" that diary somewhere?
    • Do you think an adult with no mental problems would write that in a diary and "forget" it when her father was in the running for POTUS?

Scenario 2: A kid that kept a diary and saved it for decades.

In #2...I'd also guess that's not very common either. But, let's say it is.

    • Why would a 40 year old woman hang onto her childhood diary and then leave it behind anywhere?
    • It would be obvious that it was something she treasured to hold onto. Then she just chucks it somewhere random?

I haven't done a poll on that but I'd argue that neither of those are "typical". Other than being a Trump supporter, is there anything more that might authenticate this is something more than a disinformation campaign that lead you to conclude it's legitimate?

Just like my last comment, I didn't know about this diary or that PV was asking for a response from Daddy Biden. So, I can't give you information that I haven't seen. It just doesn't make sense as presented here and the handful of links that I read to get more information.

Do you have something that shows this has been authenticated?

I am sure it is in the investigation report if it is authentic or not. Note the FBI is investigating if it is stolen. They are not investigating if it is a fraud. The diary mentions “Hunter’s birthday” and “Beau’s birthday,” the names of Biden’s two sons... The Bidens never claimed the diary was not authentic... but Hunter never claimed his laptop was not authentic either. Weird how the content is not disputed, just how it got leaked.

What a strange way to title a news article if it was not Ashley's diary.. and then the article continues to refers to it as Ashley's diary

Thanks for the links. I couldn't see the first two links as I've reached my monthly limit for free articles.
The 3rd link you posted indicates the author of the article did not link to the pages because he didn't know if the diary was authentic or if those pages came from that diary so that question is still open as far as that goes.
That kind of information is usually not released to the public until there are arrests and charges.

Also, they can't investigate if it's fraud until they determine how it arrived in the possession of anyone who is not the diary owner. The reason is that if it is was stolen (by whomever) and given or sold to PV, it is "evidence" for any pending and future criminal charges. If they have a case for theft and/or possession of stolen goods, they will make arrests and try to get a confession. That will determine which direction to go relative to any fraud charges.

In other words, they can't say "well, an expert handwriting analyst says this doesn't look like Ashley's handwriting so it's fraud. Who do we pin it on?" A criminal case is built in the other direction simply because of time and money. If the diary is connected to any 3rd party, it is up to that 3rd party's attorney to make the case that the diary was obtained legally. If he or she can't do that, the contents of the diary are irrelevant because it can't be entered into evidence (because it was obtained illegally between one or more people between where she left it and when it was seized during the warrant search).

    --------------------

Further, depending on the details between (1) where she left it or forgot it (or whatever) and (2) it ending up with X person, will be a factor because different states have different laws. This is the "chain of custody". We saw this fall apart in AZ with the Ninja (?) audit. They messed around with those machines so much that the state opted to just buy new ones because the "chain of custody" was not executed or documented correctly.

We also see this with cases that involve recording phone calls. Some states allow it, some only require one party on the call to be aware that it is being recorded and some states don't allow it, period.

Then, looking at the entry itself, the authorities would need to determine those entries came from that specific diary and the handwriting has been authenticated as belonging to Ashley.

After that, authorities have to investigate if the entries in the diary are, in fact, true. If they are true and Biden had some kind of inappropriate sexual relationship with his daughter, the question becomes "Was it consensual?" If they are true and it was consensual, it makes even less likely that she would leave it laying about or "forget" it somewhere.

Note: Consent can NEVER happen when an adult has a sexual relationship with a minor, regardless of their relationship.

If the entries are true, and those events took place when Ashley was a minor, the Statute of Limitations, would apply. SOL means that a crime is no longer prosecutable due to the interim between when the crime was committed and when the victim reported that crime to law enforcement.

Note: SOL usually don't exist for homicide and sexual abuse of a minor. Some states have others which is why it's important to authenticate the diary as belonging to her, the validity of those entries and where those criminal acts actually took place.

Further, it would be difficult for a prosecutor to indict Biden because a sitting POTUS can't be arrested. So, even if it's true that she wrote that and those events took place and the SOL hasn't run out after his term in office, the case can move forward.

The other barrier is biological evidence. If she had a consensual sexual relationship with him as an adult, she probably would not have kept his DNA. She would not be likely to know to keep DNA evidence if she was violated as a minor.

That doesn't tip the scales because that information is public knowledge. It would be different if there were entries in the diary about things only the inner circle of their family know about. Names, birth dates, jobs, spouses, kids, etc. all of that is plastered everywhere online.
That's a legal strategy. If they make *any* comment about the diary prior to any charges being filed about how it ended up in the possession (of the person(s) that had it), the optics are "they are hiding something" (even if they aren't).

It's the same reasons that all our moms told us to ignore the class bully. That is to show the bully they can spout all kinds of craziness all day long and are so insignificant they aren't worthy of a reaction.
    Legalities (as I explained above).

What a strange way to title a news article if it was not Ashley's diary.. and then the article continues to refers to it as Ashley's diary

I reached my limit for free articles on the first two links. The last one mentions the diary was purchased not stolen and the author of that article states a disclaimer saying that he can't authenticate if those pages came from that diary or that the diary is hers.

Admittedly, I didn't read 4.000 articles about it, but what I gleaned from what I read, my guess is this is fraudulent. If there was *enough* there, this would have derailed his campaign.

This is not direct at you, specifically, but I long for the day that we don't get worked up over these little tidbits TPTB throw out there to keep us fighting amongst ourselves while they all fleece us blind. ;-)
