"Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump said Sunday that he's "not sure that (he's) ever even heard of a Category 5" hurricane, despite four such storms -- including Hurricane Dorian -- having threatened the US since he took office.

"We don't even know what's coming at us. All we know is it's possibly the biggest. I have -- I'm not sure that I've ever even heard of a Category 5. I knew it existed. And I've seen some Category 4's -- you don't even see them that much," Trump said at a briefing with officials at FEMA's headquarters in Washington, DC.
"But a Category 5 is something that -- I don't know that I've ever even heard the term other than I know it's there. That's the ultimate, and that's what we have unfortunately," he added, in reference to Hurricane Dorian.

Can anyone truly believe that this man is intelligent? He is supposed to be president of the country. His administration has already responded to a Cat 5 hurricane hitting the country, and yet he is not sure if he has ever heard of one?

I don’t think it’s stupidity, just arrogance. He’s a salesman rather than a politician and while both will lie, spin and patter, salesmen are less likely to be called up on the historical consistency of their spin while politicians very much are. He just doesn’t seem to care about that difference, with some justification as it never seems to generate anything other than a brief flurry of headlines which are quickly forgotten.

Obama's was a lack of knowledge. He should have known that but he didn't. When he learned of his mistake, he didn't repeat it.

Trump is saying he has never heard of something that has occurred multiple times during the course of his own presidency. Something his administration has already responded to.

LOL. There have already been 4 cateogry 5 hurricanes to alight on US soil during Trump's presidency. 8, during Bush's. 1 during Obama's. I guess Pat Robertson is going to have to come out of retirement to blame the lying Godless republicans for all of them hurricanes. In fact by Robertson's now famous logic, God must really have it in for the repubs: Other than Trump and Bush being pilloried by God's wrath, there have only been 6 years in recorded history with multiple category 5 hurricanes in a year. 4 of them were during republican presidencies. One was during JFKs, so probably more of a catholic thing according to Robertson I am sure.
Does Trump know or not know about all the category 5s that have already hit the US during his term? It really doesn't matter. Point is, he really just doesn't care. What is important to him is how to sell it to his best advantage. A pretty sh**ty way to live your life, and an even worse lesson to inculcate in today's culture.
