Other times it leads people to just lie. Typically if you are getting the information for free, its an advertisement, or its worth just how much you paid for it.

I am thinking when the MSM "leaks" the conversation between two world leaders,
When an FBI agent can "leak" to the press a classified conversation in the oval office..
When the phone records of Congressmen and reporter are obtained illegally by a Congress member and "leaked" to the press
When we are about to have a full blown propaganda show with the Committee findings politicized with a prime time propaganda machine at work to not address the Committee's role in finding legislative results, like why the security was so lacked that January 6 was allowed to happen.. but try and dig up and present whatever way they can, crimes, which is not their role in government.
When the CIA can leak the Russiagate hoax to the media, and then the FBI can start an investigation because it was reported in the news that was being fed from the CIA....

Seems the conversation has slid over into the quality and type of information systems, that now exist..........and the quality of same.

It seems that one must be skeptics of just about every thing told to us theses days.. The other factor is that folks seems to reject information that does not fit their preconceived ideologies. and positions.........which can narrow ones horizons. (IMHO)

The other "fatigue " that can be identified is due to the amount of misinformation, disinformation , evasiveness, spin and outright LIES.........something that seems to have become much more pronounced due to the Trump effect........and behavior.

Yes.....some folks have various slogans when it comes to discussing trump. ........as if ignoring his impact will make it go away. One can only hope that Trump fatigue can increase to the point he is ignored and the politicians move on...........without being afraid of his brutal and caustic criticism ....... The Reps continue to need his approval.......... and thus have stopped thinking for themselves. and i a way have paralyzed themselves into being unable to actual do anything constructive....... .

Recall his phone call with Duterte where trump praised him for the job he was doing.

Duterte had his police executing people in the streets. Duterte himself bragged about murdering someone in cold blood to show the other men how it is done.

Putin, Jong Un, Duterte, these are the men trump adores - the most ruthless, cold-blooded killers in the world. So we know what to expect from him if his full potential for evil and horror is unleashed. Birds of a feather...

 

The fatigue is when folks like you know it all and are not to be questioned... even after being proven wrong time and time again....

becasue he is a sociopath....... and too many refuses to consider that he has a personality disorder. He presents a superficial image that the collectivize american penalty likes..........a strong ;man ( ie bully ) Which is perceived as strength. Plus he is RICH..........(how he got that way matters little............just the fact his wealthy This plays very well..........as America collective has little tolerance for "weakness" Weapons represent strength..... just as an overly aggressive attitude. Just like Trump ........... backing down......... is frowned on. "i t is all about fighting back"..........whether is makes sense or is wise......... matters little. If one does not......... one is "weak" or a "loser". That is Trumpism t a T.........and what he has fostered and personified. This fosters a n ongoing level of tension........ and ergo "the fatigue.

Principles don't matter as much as elections, power, "strength" (and weapons) or wealth.

This is interesting from a cultural perspective to........as when people have to much freedom or abuse it........a degree of disorganization takes place...........and the need to for stable constancy arises......... and folks see this in a semi dictator.This delightful country is in a crisis on many levels....... and with all the challenges happening concurrently..( extreme violence , unpredictability, economic challenges......... and residual pandemic issues.)......people can feel at loose ends., uncertain, unsafe ........and rightly so. just reality.....but from this "reality" can emerge some genius problem solvers.......and it might mean some major changes from the old school politics.

Thee positive is that this country can survive trump......and other challenges...........It has done it before....and will again.........because this country has been built on conquering major challenges.

I don't see how this gets fixed for at least a generation.

It took me 40 years to move beyond the brainwashing I received from the Catholics and other religions. And what the right wing mania has done to people today strikes me as being orders of magnitude worse. There are a hell of a lot of people who have completely lost touch with reality. They believe utter nonsense and with a passion. At least we knew our beliefs were based in faith.
