Being right wing is not something I own up to socially. I don't put it out there in conversation. Intellectually I know I live in a numerically right wing country with a strong tradition of right wing dominance, but socially I am acutely aware that loud mouthed lefty sits at every table and wants the excuse to demean people. I don't enjoy being shouted down so I don't make actions that provoke it. That's why the voting booth is a private place.
