Definitely a statement on par with:

"The Ocean contains Water".

 

The word "coup" was never uttered by any official, only the headline of the right-wing rags you're quoting , and a comedian's comment is really dredging the bottom of the barrel.

Nonetheless, how much leeway should Trump be allowed? That's the question which concerns me from folks like yourself who seem to imply this president, regardless of his irrational behaviour, should be left to do whatsoever he pleases, no matter how dangerous it is to the safety of the country. That is not only scary, but unpatriotic.

Trump is not king!

He's already shown to a large degree there is something seriously wrong with his reasoning abilities. If we are met with an immediate existential crisis, I certainly want to know there is someone near the president who will prevent him from one of his many childish rants.

 

I don't think you have to actually use the term coup d'etat to imply you want one. It sounds like you are implying that you may like one. I guess it's contagious.

What I am saying is evangelicals voted for Trump, despite his very un-Christian character, in part because of their religious beliefs. Not that they actively want him to bring the end times, but rather the belief that god works in mysterious ways. This magical thinking combined with a homogenous culture and lack of a uniform orthodoxy is what motivated them to vote Trump.

 

So I guess it's fair to assume you think Trump is King.

Now we have another Trump advisor telling us that Trump doesn't really mean what he is saying. This kind of thing has been going on for six months. We are continually told, Trump didn't mean it. Trump was joking. Trump was being sarcastic. It is as if Trump has a problem with the English language, and we need an interpreter to understand him.

The latest interpreter is Tom Price, the secretary of health and human services. Trump doesn't think letting the healthcare system under the Affordable Care Act implode is the right thing to do, but will continue to threaten to do so because he doesn't think Obamacare is working for the American people, Tom Price said Sunday.

"It's not the right thing to do because it hurts people," Price said.

Well, no s**t.

Trump is not a well man. When the President needs an interpreter, something is seriously wrong.
