I seem to have missed the amazing part when we had the worst recovery and the worst unemployment in modern history.

They were willing and able to meet him half way and negotiate with him, he cut them out, told them elections have consequences.

What was the success. His stimulus was supposed to hold the unemployment rate to 8% for one quarter and then rapidly fall. Instead it shot to 10% and stayed over 8% for the next four years while the LFPR was on a strong curve DOWN.
