I think Trump is a horse’s ass and should be impeached for being an incompetent lying crook. However I can not believe all of these phony Democrats acting incensed over his getting our guys out of an endless turd hunt in Syria. If those people want to get rid of Assad, let them do it. Screw the Kurds and Screw Israel too. Let them fend for themselves. One of the best things about Trump is that he has not started any idiotic wars and is getting us out of others. I hope he pulls all of our troops out of Afghanistan too. I suggest we leave that whole hornets nest of Middle East and Afghanistan drama to the Russians and the Turks for the next 80-90 years. We can buy cheap oil from the region if they deliver it right to our ports and leave us out of their political hellhole.

It is common practice for Trumpets to imagine what a Trump critic say, then criticizes the detractor because of what he imagined. It is an foolish, immature, and infantile tactic.

Review what I said in the post.

You did not contradict a thing I said.

Look at a very popular map showing the counties Trump won and the counties Clinton won.

Geez, you didn't even know that?

In answer to my question, "I don't know what you want to happen?" You replied:

"Neither do I. What does one do when the President of the United States betrays an invaluable ally and gives a green light to one country to invade another? The answer to that question is above my pay grade."

So.. you have no vision of a foreign policy. You've no idea what would be a good decision, and you're content to farm it out, "The answer to that question is above my pay grade."

So I don't have to imagine what you said; you said it.

Foreign policy is one of the issues that we vote on when we vote for President, and we take into consideration the candidates foreign policy views. Or at least I thought that's what everyone did. I don't think I've heard of such a blank cipher as you are on foreign policy, especially considering how much you've written about it here, or should I say copy/pasted it (probably from on of your crazy blogs). But you seem to have understood none of it!

I didn't think it was possible for someone to write so much about a subject that you had no knowledge or interest in, but you've managed to do it. I don't know what the point was however. Why write about something you admit you don't know or care about?

yes....it is apparent. The masses and collectivists tend to be blue, while the freedom loving individuals tend to be red.

Have you ever considered that there is a reason that large countries and corporations tend to dominate.
It is all very appealing to to lionize freedom and individuality
But the fact is that when people collect in groups.... they tend to dominate those who wish to be separate.

you might prefer that was not so
But there are reasons that Starbucks is pervasive and aunt betties coffee shop is not
There are reasons that small farmers continually fail, and large farms grow larger
There are reasons that eventually Hong Kong will be undifferentiated from China
And there are reasons that the USA is more successful and powerful than 50 individual nations would be

I don't doubt for one minute what you said Ardy. That is a definite truth, but here is another. You must understand the 'NATURE" OF HUMAN KIND".
Our Founders did. Of course their knowledge was largely Bible based. Whatever you want to believe spiritually, most will agree the Bible has deep insight into what I'll call "human nature" or the "carnal nature". Human Nature seeks it's own. It is prideful, and it is greedy. Those are the basics. That is the problem with "concentrated power". Most every nation aside from dictatorships, communist regimes, acknowledge that to some degree. That is why we have a system of State, local and federal government. That is why we have 3 branches of government. Checks and Balances. Individuals count. They are not to be run rough shod over by some charismatic leader that gets support from the "collective".

    Often asserted..
. But many of the founders were deists.... essentially only vaguely religious.,l like Jefferson’s Bible

You could say the same about Shakespeare

Well it is definitely a balancing act

funny how that statement looks different from different perspectives. I think of trump as a charismatic leader. If someone could shoot someone on 5th ave and his supporters would not care.,.. what is that other than charisma. From an trump skeptic! He seems to be running roughshod over our so called checks and balances

I should explain this. What I mean is that, if we are simply protecting or helping the Kurds as people usually but not always friendly, it seems an open-end proposition without answer as to why we're doing it. They would seem destined to just be simple wards of the US -- and fairly wild ones at that.

    Make sense?

    They don't need us.

We asked for their help in defeating ISIS. That means we incurred an obligation to help them negotiate a peace with Turkey. Erdogan wanted a meeting with Trump, at the U.N., when both were there. Trump snubbed him because Trump was focused on Ukraine and the meeting with its President. So...Erdogan went home and planned something that would get his attention.

Where did you get that B.S.? From the White House website? That sounds very much like something Trump would say. He also says the Kurds are better off now because they have to flee their homes, hundreds have been killed, and thousands have become refugees.

The U.S. played a limited role in defeating ISIS. At the very most, we had only 2,000 troops in Syria. Our troops were trainers, advisors, aircraft spotters.

The Kurds lost 11,000 fighters destroying the caliphate, marginalizing the ISIS guerilla force, and imprisoning an estimated 10,000 ISIS fighters who now have escaped because of Trump's dishonorable decision.

On Friday Trump gave his friend, Erdogan, everything he wanted with no concessions. Trump even removed the meaningless sanctions he had imposed on Turkey.

By removing U.S. troops, Trump ceded control of the region to Russia.

Trump made this comment twice on Friday. “The U.S. has secured the Oil.” No one knows what he is talking about, and there are doubts not even his base will believe this outrageous statement that borders on pure fantasy.

No doubt about it. Trump is losing it.

He most definitely is not a charismatic leader. Most of the times he acts like a complete jerk. He consistently lies to the American people to the extent that not even his closest advisors and supporters in Congress can believe a thing he says.

His support is largely religious in nature. His supporters are members of a cult. They can't defend him. They largely avoid what Trump actually does and says. This forum is proof of that. His supporters can't even say why they support him. The largest thread that supports Trump is entitled, "We support Donald Trump." The thread consists mostly of cartoons and fanciful phrases written by someone else.

Why his supporters latched on to a self-admitted sexual predator is anyone's guess. Maybe they support a jerk because, for some reason, they want a jerk to be President.

The reason his supporters remain loyal is one of life's mysteries.

    Here's a smarter piece:

    https://nypost.com/2019/10/19/trump-didnt-sell-out-the-kurds-by-pulling-out-of-syria/

Let’s be clear about US goals, too. Our advisors were not in northern Syria to defend a Kurdish government but to fight ISIS. The fight to smash the ISIS caliphate is over, and we won.

No US administration has ever bought into Kurdish national aspirations. Even the pro-Kurdish ex-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who was a long-time investor in Kurdish oil, warned Iraqi Kurds to cancel a planned referendum on independence in September 2017.

When Kurdish Regional Government president Masoud Barzani defied those warnings, Tillerson said the results “lacked legitimacy” and warned there would be serious consequences. And the United States did nothing when Baghdad sent troops to the Iraqi city of Kirkuk shortly after the vote, then arrested the Kurdish governor-general and reclaimed control of the northern oil fields. That was a huge strategic setback for the Iraqi Kurds.

While the Kurds were thrilled to have US backing in the fight against ISIS, none of them had any illusions about the US coming to their aid should Turkey attack.

Did the president’s critics really believe he should have considered those 50 US soldiers as a “tripwire” that would trigger a massive US military invasion of Syria to fight against Turkey — our NATO ally?

Had our soldiers been slaughtered and US forces ended up in a shooting war with Turkey, they would be crucifying Trump today for killing these Americans and destroying the NATO alliance.

Thank goodness Trump was smart enough and decisive enough to quickly move our soldiers to safety.

Had our soldiers been "slaughtered," Turkey would have gone to war with its NATO ally. No one is suggesting the U.S. had an obligation to go to war over a Kurdish homeland, but only to ensure the protection of Kurdish allies during their negotiations for such.

The opinion piece in the Post missed the point entirely. This isn't about the U.S. recognizing Kurdish sovereignty. This is about Trump betraying an ally who fought a dreaded enemy for us. The writer of this article tried to divert attention from that fact. This sounds like something a White House staffer would write. Any semblance to truth is purely coincidental.

The U.S. played a limited role in defeating ISIS. At the very most, we had only 2,000 troops in Syria. Our troops were trainers, advisors, aircraft spotters.

For Trump to be a charismatic leader he would have to show some semblance of competence. He does not. He makes a mess of everything he touches.

To say Trump is incompetent is to say water is wet. Throughout his Presidency he replaces one controversy illustrating his incompetence with worse controversy illustrating his incompetence.

Where to begin? In 32 months there are so many. Let's begin with his disastrous trade war with China, which fortunately has not hurt our economy too much, no thanks to Trump. To illustrate the problem, currently the Dow is 281 points above where it was in January 2018. The stock market is standing still, and his trade war with no end in sight is a disaster while contrary to Republican Party principles.

Trump changed the subject from his disastrous trade war with China to his cowardly response to Iran capturing ships, mining ships, destroying the largest oil refinery in the world, and shooting down a very sophisticated American aircraft. Trump's response was meaningless economic sanctions. Trump seemed to have forgotten the fact that he caused the entire mess by removing the U.S. from a perfectly good working agreement that barred Iran from making a nuke.

As things got more serious with his handling of Iran, Trump began still another controversy to change the subject. He called a foreign power, asked them to interfere in our Presidential election by investigating one of his opponents and used bribery to get the foreign power to do what he wanted. This jacked up the impeachment charges against Trump.

But Trump didn't care. The mindless President quickly started a far worse controversy to remove the previous one from the front pages. He betrayed an important ally in the Middle East, an ally that had destroyed ISIS and curtailed Assad's monstrosities, and gave his friend, dictator Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey, everything he wanted. This imbecilic decision caused him support of Republicans in Congress, and both McConnell and Graham have turned on him.

Trump hasn't replaced this disaster yet, but he will.

What could be worse than betraying an important ally in the fight against Islamic terrorism? I don't know, but we will find out. Trump will find something. He always does.

With all the chaos Trump is creating, is there any doubt he is acting like a Russian puppet? I would like to hear from Trump supporters on that question. Or, are they avoiding the issue? They probably are.
