Where you said “no one else has done this”, that’s either a blatant lie or extreme ignorance: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASM-135_ASAT https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Burnt_Frost
Is this another one of those histrionic beta male threads we all laugh at ? Let me help you out op. Our military in the USA is advanced beyond the comprehension of the butthurt ...trump hating retard.
Secreatart of Defense James Mattis, aka Mad Dog, aka Chaos, opposes this new branch being created. Is he a beta male?
So what, it is still a "New Branch of the Military", which is what people in this thread seem so up in arms about Trump doing. So again, I ask, who created CyberCommand? Was it Obama or Bush? And did he go through Congress? If the answer is no, then this thread is a joke and should be ignored as hypocrisy. If yes, then Trump should follow suite and go through congress.
You don't understand what China has done and how it differs from your examples. Go school yourself and come back.
You know the army used to be the airforce right? That they've told you about. Obviously all those guys bragging about being a space shuttle door gunner weren't all lying
Mattis opposes plan to create new military branch for space thehill.com/policy/defense/341650-mattis-opposes-space-corps-plan Creating the Space Corps, he said, would be saddling a new Defense secretary and new Air Force secretary with a congressionally mandated new military branch before they have time to fully study the issue. In his letter, Mattis also argued the issue needs to be studied more....snip~ I guess some forgot all that Mattis was saying about it.
It’s not semantic. Cyber Command is not a branch. It was specifically created to coordinate efforts across the branches of the military because all of them are affected by cyber warfare. Joint effort is needed by the branches for effective cyber defense. It’s the same with JSOC. Every branch needs to coordinate special operations activity so they created a seperate Command because every branch has its own stake in special ops. The Air Space Command handles 90+% of all US military space activity, with a tiny minority being handled by the Navy, and an infinitesimal amount done by the Army. There is no need for a joint Command there.
It doesn’t differ at all from the second one except that China had to modify a space launcher to do a mission that the US Navy can do with its standard SAMs.
And the Air Force didn’t get seperated from the Army until it was large enough that it was already its own branch. USAF Space Command isn’t even a third the size of the Coast Guard.
How many Cyber Command recruiting station are there in your town? Where is Cyber Command basic training at? What are their ranks? Who is the Secretary of Cyber Command?
Can do but hasn't done. Only China has used a weapon in space and in doing so scattered small but lethal space shrapnel that now is increasing harder to avoid for sats and even vehicles like the space station. You get that right. We need to be in command of the high ground. I'm pleased the government is starting down the path to military dominance of space.
So, I'm thinking you would have laughed yourself silly when Kennedy talked about landing a man on the moon.
The second link I posted. The US Navy has shown it can shoot down satellites as well and the US Air Force proved that capability in the 80’s. Kessler Syndrome screws over everyone. That isn’t Command of the high ground. That’s turning the high ground molten and radioactive.
Please.....PLEASE for the love of God, Bhudda and all else tell me its named either Starfleet Command or the Imperial Navy.
See above point about its mission becoming more specialized by the minute. It's also growing if they're going to take down orbital navigation hazards too like was talked about. It's also only ever going to grow. Might as well get it organized now. It's also a way to take current classified projects related to space and bring them into the regular budget from the slush fund side.
