    Just… wow. The STUPID just keeps coming with this guy.
    Did he just catch a showing of Starship Troopers on SPIKE TV or something?

    Please, Trump worshippers, please defend this imbecilic idea.

    Was this a recent thing? I know I heard this months ago, unless he rekindled it recently and I missed it.


    Anyway, it's a necessity IMO.

    Our Technology uses satellites...based in space to help us on the battlefield. The first shots are going to be to take those out. Russia and China know this and have both been working on Satellite Killing.
    Laugh about a space force, and be unprepared if you want...but the first strikes are going to be at those assets.

    Not stupid at all. it shows that someone has their eye on the ball, and some do not apparently.

    So it is your opinion that military assets in space is imbecilic? Anti-missile tech is "stupid"? GPS was "moronic"? A jump point for defense against rogue meteors etc is just dumb?

    You realize that the world has been chasing dominance in space since we reached it? It brought down the USSR ffs. I guess China is stupid too.

    Wait a minute, what exactly are we needing to defend? Do you remember the Star Wars program under Reagan? This would be like that. It's a program that will destroy any nuclear missiles shot at us from abroad so that the missiles never make it here.

    Why do you have a problem with that? How could you have a problem with that?

    Why do you think it’s necessary? Why isn’t the structure of the Air Force’s space operations satisfactory? Why doesn’t Mattis think it’s necessary?

    We already defend our satellites from potential attack. Just how many satellites are being shot out of the sky that makes this idea defensible? What evidence is there that this is necessary - or even rational?

    1. “You just don’t like Trump!”
    2. “Why SHOULDN’T we have a space force?
    3. Because of all those satellites that are not being shot out of the sky!

    We already had airplanes in the air when the USAF was created as a separate branch of the military. In fact our planes in the air actually helped win WW1 and WW2 before we had a separate branch. Yet we created a separate branch.

    I am not a fan of Trump, but what is wrong with defending our country from space? Is it that you think that the Air Force should take it on? Is there air in space?

    silly thread. protection in space should be paramount. The majority of our systems come from satellites.

    That said, some of this should have a mandate on research to remove the space debris cluttering up our atmosphere.

    well congress is going to have to actually do it. as long as there is no duplicate effort between this service and the air force i have no heartburn over this.
