Trump picked the wrong audience

Today, in Missouri, Trump told a crowd of veterans "Don't believe the crap you hear from these people -- the fake news. What you're seeing and what you're reading is not what's happening."

The President of the United States told a room full of hardened veterans not to believe what the read, hear, and see from the free press.

Trump chose the wrong audience to make those treasonous comments, while only a week ago he told an American audience that he did not believe American intelligence. Instead, he believe the communist dictator of Russia because his statement was presented in a powerful way.

We veterans swore to protect our Constitution from enemies, foreign and domestic. We gambled with our lives to support that oath. In 230 years, many have lost that gamble.

There is little doubt that Trump's words inflamed the majority of the veterans in that hall. It is inconceivable that any man would be so stupid as to attack our democracy in a room full of veterans, each of whom had sworn to protect our democracy with ]their very lives.

Trump was speaking at the Veterans of Foreign Wars national convention in Kansas City. The VFW did not agree with Trump.

"Today, we were disappointed to hear some of our members boo the press during President Trump's remarks," the organization wrote. "We rely on the media to spread the VFW message, and @CNN, @NBCNews, @ABC, @FoxNews, @CBSNews, & others on site today, were our invited guests. We were happy to have them there."

Republican senators condemned the Trump administration's recently announced plans to bail out U.S. farmers hit by crippling tariffs on their goods.
“This trade war is cutting the legs out from under farmers and the White House’s ‘plan’ is to spend $12 billion on gold crutches," said Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse.

Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker called on the Trump administration to "reverse course and end this incoherent" tariff and said the administration was "offering welfare to farmers to solve a problem they themselves created."

Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., came out swinging against the newly proposed aid package, describing it as a pair of "gold crutches" to support the farmers hobbled by President Donald Trump's own trade policy.

“This trade war is cutting the legs out from under farmers and the White House’s ‘plan’ is to spend $12 billion on gold crutches," Sasse, a frequent Trump critic, said in a statement.

"America’s farmers don’t want to be paid to lose — they want to win by feeding the world. This administration’s tariffs and bailouts aren’t going to make America great again, they’re just going to make it 1929 again,” he added.

I watched the entire event today live.

Of all of the Trump rallies over the past 2 1/2 years It was nothing but applauses and standing ovations at the VFW Convention.

Now there were some combat vets who booed CNN and I'm guessing they were Vietnam combat vets because they didn't forget the lies that news media was reporting to the American people back home about Tet of 68.

 

Too late.

 

Anyone only has to look at ANY poll of those IN the military now to see how much they despise the Democratic Party.

President Obama let American troops be killed by ISIS for nearly 8 years, even in the greatest treason ordered prior warnings of air raids be given so no ISIS troops were harmed and the missions failed. Instead, the Democrats wanted to give ISIS welfare and food stamp money.

President Trump, to the contrary, gave our military permission to destroy ISIS - and a couple hundred thousand artillery shells, bombs and missiles later - within a month - we haven't heard a think of ISIS anymore and the American body bags from ISIS deaths ended.

Try to find ANY message by ANY Democrat on this forum - even those claiming or pretending to be veterans - cheering the destruction of ISIS by our military. I can't. Maybe the ranting Democrat self-claimed veterans on this thread can point to their messages cheering our military's - on President Trump's orders - destroying ISIS and with virtually NO USA casualties. I bet they can't.

While some officers and paper shufflers might vote Democrat and a few minorities will, told it is their submissive racial duty, I doubt 1 in 10 American personnel actually in combat voted Democrat - and this why the Obama administration made certain nearly all ballots cast by troops in combat zones where warehoused until after the deadline to submit them so their votes would NEVER be counted - as great an act of treason as possible. They did that on the base one of my children was stationed on - literally refused to allow them to be shipped - despite increasing protests - until the day AFTER the deadline.

THAT is how anti-military the Democratic Party is and that is just one of 1000 reasons ANY military personnel that may ever be in combat should HATE the Democratic Party. To the Democratic Party, our troops are just petty sacrificial pawns in their ideological fantasy land.
