Trump really blows it this time

Just how incredibly stupid is Trump really? We get a startling look at the answer to that question today. The answer is ... exceedingly.

The two Democratic leaders of the House and Senate were scheduled to meet with Trump and the two Republican leaders of the House and Senate, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell, to discuss tax reform and the looming government shutdown on Dec. 8. The Democratic leaders were, of course, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.

The meeting was billed to be highly critical, particularly in the case of the government shutdown. Some Democrats will have get on board to prevent that shutdown because it will take at least 60 votes.

So what does Trump do? In a condescending manner meant to insult Trump refers to the two leaders of the House and Senate by their first names. Then he tells them there won't be any deal in his opinion.

The President tweeted Tuesday morning that the meeting likely would not result in a deal about funding the government.

"Meeting with 'Chuck and Nancy' today about keeping government open and working. Problem is they want illegal immigrants flooding into our Country unchecked, are weak on Crime and want to substantially RAISE Taxes. I don't see a deal!"

If the reader needs to read that over again to believe it, that is certainly understandable. It is difficult to comprehend the President being so stupid as to virtually tell the Democratic leaders they were not welcome at a meeting to decide the government's future after Dec. 8.

To the enormous chagrin on the part of Ryan and McConnell, Trump just handed the Democrats a tremendous amount of leverage. How stupid is that?

As one might expect "Chuck and Nancy" decided not to attend a meeting where they were not welcome.

"Given that the President doesn't see a deal between Democrats and the White House, we believe the best path forward is to continue negotiating with our Republican counterparts in Congress instead," Pelosi and Schumer said in their joint statement. "Rather than going to the White House for a show meeting that won't result in an agreement, we've asked (Senate Majority Leader Mitch) McConnell and (House Speaker Paul) Ryan to meet this afternoon."

Trump's incredible stupidity was eclipsed by another incredible act of stupidity. At the dog and pony show that followed Trump decided to advertise his stupidity for all the world to see. He sat before television cameras with empty chairs flanking him with name tags for Schumer and Pelosi.

How much longer will Ryan, McConnell, and the Republican leadership in Congress put up with the brainless acts of this President? He may have really blown it this time. For the cameras and party unity, Ryan and McConnell blamed the Democrats for the no-show. Privately, they know exactly who is to blame. As does everyone else.

And it is not "Chuck and Nancy."

“Donny Boy” got the reaction he wanted - the meeting was going to interfere with his golf game

Chuck and Nancy are public servants. They should answer to their given names. I hear the President of the United States referred to as "Trump". Who cares. What is important is ignoring the huffing and puffing and set down for some honest dialog and try to solve the country's problems. Knock off the spoiled child syndrome.

Everyone with half a brain could predict that Chuck and Nancy would use this meeting as a gimmick of their own - and Trump beat them to it.

I can see that picture with the empty seats being highlighted when Trump shuts down the government and blames the Democrats. Can anyone see that Trump placed the opposition seats next to him - as though stating that he is willing to deal - and they are empty! Trump will not allow open borders and he will have his wall - and the best way to get it is over the bodies of Chuck and Nancy and this picture gives him the weapon he needs.

Given the way they have made it a habit to make Republican leadership look bad, does anyone believe that the Republicans would allow the two snakes to bypass Trump for a deal - now that would be stupid.

Chuck and Nancy have given Trump a "shut down the government blame free" card. Trump wants to dismantle the swamp and a government shutdown would allow him the opportunity to start the job - what departments can he totally shut down without anyone noticing?

Chuckie and Nancy might stand high with their special interests, but how how will they stand with their constituents when that picture is used to support the looming shutdown. How will they look after a few days when some of their own party desert them and go along with the Trump agenda.

Shanks likes to throw around the word "stupid" when talking about Trump - but I'll call the man "genius" as he manipulates his enemies into serious mis-steps.

You got him all wrong. Mueller is closing in. Trump acts like an idiot so the media won't talk about the Russians. Guess what the media is talking about today? The bonehead tweet disinviting Schumer and Pelosi to the White House, of course.

He is the only man I know who is so stupid he thinks he is smart by acting like a moron.

Great, than using your analogy the media can refer to the President as Donald. Would you agree to that?

One was the minority leader in the House. The other was minority leader in the Senate. Trump using their given names was meant as an insult and you know it.

When are you going to quit making excuses for this guy? He really blew it. Ryan and McConnell know perfectly well the President of their party just handed the Democrats a whole bunch of bargaining chips. If the government is shut down, who will be blamed? The Republicans because of their refusal to work with the Democrats.

Exhibit #1, Trump's moronic tweet today.

He said there'd be no deal before the meeting.
They decided not worth wasting time going. They didn't walk out. Honesty isn't a strong suit I see.

If you had paid attention, he explained why. They wanted higher taxes and more unfettered immigration. I'm not a fan of useless meetings about future meetings either.

Wrong! The way they twist the truth is such a shame. This is another instance of fake news here - Chuckie and Nancy first said open borders and amnesty must be part of the deal and Trump said "no way" - what they want is a deal breaker that's what his tweet was all about

Nancy is senile and suffers from dementia, but I would expect Chuckie to be smarter than that - if the measures don't pass, Trump will shut the government down and blame it all on them - and that picture will be the poster representing such a shut down.
