    There are much better ways to show appreciation than make active duty troops march in parades just to enhance the ego of a wannabe Stalin or Kim Chung Dung.

    The other terrible part was shinning the damned dress shoes. We figured out that liquid self polishing floor wax did a pretty good job.

    Not in D.C., but okay. Let's pull the sailors off their ships so they can march around the block.
    Training base. Good idea, let's delay training classes so troops can march around the block.
    Seriously? The Coast Guard? The one service that's probably out there doing its job and and you want to pull them out of the water to march around the block?

    The marching was fairly minimal in the AF, it was the hours standing at parade rest in the heat and humidity that was a bitch. IAE, this seems like a stupid idea - one designed to have trumps fragile ego stroked. He makes me sick.

    Trump is surrounded by enough generals that I would hope one of them could explain to him what a parade is. It is not to honor the troops. A parade is to honor the person standing on the reviewing stand. When the soldiers pass the reviewing stand and do an 'eyes right' that is the highest honor they can bestow on the person standing on the reviewing stand. Why do you think dictators love parades? It's to get the biggest ass kissing they can.
