I guess Blaster3 hasn't figured it out that the only river California shares with other states is the Colorado R. on our border with Nevada and Arizona. There are no "rivers flowing into Cali"

Do you have to be so rude?

The Colorado River is crucial to California's water supply.

The Colorado Aqueduct, built in the 1930s, transports water from the Colorado River to Southern California. It's operated by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) and is the region’s primary source of drinking water.

The Colorado River provides roughly a third of all supplies for Southern California cities and suburbs. It also supports a large farming industry in Imperial and Riverside Counties.

CALIFORNIA IS A MAJOR USER OF COLORADO RIVER WATER

The Colorado River is the source of 4.4 million acre feet (5.4 km3) per year for California.

California would absolutely try to get more water from the Colorado River at the vital expense to Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada.

Oh trust me, I hate the position I am taking — or rather that I have been forced to take.

I know once the Democrats do this the republicans will do the same to a greater extent.

    But what’s the alternative?

I apologize. But you may want to consider how the outrageous nonsense against California posted by some others provokes sarcasm. Just an understanding of the geography of California would tell one that the Sierra Nevada is the state's primary source of water. That is why Californians demand serious action on climate change.

I don’t have a side, I am fairly moderate except on social issues.
Democrats May have some serious flaws but republicans have just abandoned any principle or modicum of integrity. I will have to disagree that republicans are ‘just as bad as democrats’, they aren’t, they are much much worse.

What have the Democrats done to blatantly hurt other America’s like the stunts trump is pulling?

Yes, indeed. As a land owner in Utah among other states, I am well aware of the corporate battle vs the public interest for Colorado River water.

This winter has been good to us so far in terms of snowpack/ watershed. But it is important that the Rockies get plenty of snow since so many depend on the Colorado.

Wish I knew the correct answer. Pretty certain least to me that the answer isn’t (D) or (R) but not a realistic chance for another party to compete. Want to see Democrats and Republicans work together and find common ground challenge the duopoly IMO. That is one thing they will join together and fight tooth and nail to maintain their grip on.

To be on topic responding to and helping to recover from a major natural disaster is one of the major responsibilities of the federal govt. On par with defending the country from a direct attack by a foreign nation or terrorist organization.
