While our nation destroys and rebuilds wasting the dollars we give them, citizens continue to do whtat they can in private donations as well. Our country recieves enough taxes to help if they would spend it more wisely. There is no need to give them more. They should be focused on building infrastructure to make others self sustainable rather than destroying their nations and rebuilding them... or spending it on social programs like teaching gender studies. As to what they spend it on... obvioulsy, energy, access to water, and facilities to produce clean food that use less water.

 

I wasn't talking about philanthropy, which is directed to outside the donating nation.
I am speaking about taking in immigrants which directly impacts physical daily life in your country.

It goes without saying that international donations to countries which are undergoing serious aggression as well as the daily difficulties that prevent education, malnutrition, child deaths, lack of general medical equipment and drugs, are vital if you want to consider yourself a hulan being.
I was disappointed when the UK voted this year to reduce its Foreign Aid budget from 7% to 5% of GDP when the poorer areas of the world are so badly impacted by Covid . I cannot tell you the billions the UK has wasted on its own Covid programme ...truly criminal.
I do not ever criticise the US's philanthropy both internally and externally but no amount of foreign aid is going to stop despots bombing people out of their homes. Some of those Syrian apartment blocks look like the remains of the WTC post 9/11.

 

REALLY? Stay comfortable in that thought; please. President Biden is proving that all the insults and lies being thrown about, about him are just that. He's doing it quietly, steadily and relentlessly. In three years people are going to see what he's accomplished for the Common AmeriCan and all those lies about him are going to wither.
