So Trump supporters who are racist against Mexicans go into a food joint which essentially supports Mexicans. Do you even have a clue regarding what you're talking about? Meanwhile, its you libs who boycott, shut down and burn to the ground what you disagree with. And you wonder why liberalism is considered a mental illness.

I don’t identify as liberal, don’t think people should be discriminated on grounds of sexual orientation but certainly won’t mock anyone going out of business (I wasn’t aware any of the bakeries involved in any of those cases had actually gone bust).

Businesses generally have the right to serve (or not serve) anyone they want but there are typically laws and regulations preventing them from actively discriminating against prospective customers on specific sets of grounds, typically including race, religion, gender and sometimes, though not always, sexual orientation. Nowhere is political persuasion one of those grounds.

If a customer is just wearing clothing promoting a mainstream political candidate, it doesn’t make much sense to refuse their business and doesn’t strike me as right. If there are more specific slogans involved or other more disruptive behaviour, the refusal could be more justified. The article does include differences of opinion on the true sequence of events (as is so often the case in these situations) and isn’t a reliable source of in-depth investigative reporting (they’ve basically just read a series of Facebook posts).

 

And of course "your kind" keeps tossing around words that you dont understand.


Even when someone has posted you the definition prior. Nothing you can show that would make Trump a racist. Illegal Immigrant is not a race.

Maybe. But that's ancient history. And your comments prove my point. If Hispanics become the majority, many will seek revenge, restitution, wealth redistribution, and the list goes on. Also, I believe we are a superior culture because of our high esteem for the rule of law, which is virtually absent in most Latin countries and in Mexico. That won't change because they're in the US. They will change the US.

Political views are not a protected class. I still remember a restaurant in college that fired employees for refusing to wear "(*)(*)(*)(*) Kerry" t-shirts that the owner had printed.

 

I'm a lefty and I say you are correct. If this business wants to discriminate against Trump supporters, they should have to make that a publicly stated policy visible to anyone before they choose to patronize the business.

 

I always thought this was one of the better options: refuse service to anyone you want, for whatever reason you want, but make your policy public. Businesses are generally more terrified of public backlash than government intervention.

Most cons here, including myself, will say people should be able to conduct business with whoever they want. It might not be the smartest move at times, but that should be their choice.

 

Agreed, let the free market decide if the business will be supported. If someone doesn't want your money they should not be forced to take it. In the end it will be your decision on who you decide to serve that makes or breaks you.

Me personally I would no longer support a business if they decided they would not serve a customer based on political standing. Now if you are just a complete ass, then yeah I don't want a thing from you and dont want you around my patrons or to be known to be affiliated with you.

 

How else will liberals control others without these types of tactics? That is their goal.
