Agreed. Progressives mocking efforts and commitments to help train and retrain US citizen workers for the future is mocked and Trump & Ivanka are attacked. There is a term for that which cannot be used on this forum. It’s the tragically funny “progressives being regressives” phenomenon so common today.

 

We are. But we are against countries such as China who subsidize industries and manipulate currency exchange rates which result in the loss of US jobs. All of our interstate commerce laws prevent states from doing this in the US. Trump is forcing the Chinese to trade fairly via trade negotiations and punitive tariff policies which will be lifted as fair trade agreements are signed.

BTW why has Pelosi stopped USMCA for 8 months ?? Implementation will result in ~ 176,000 new US jobs and ~ $60B added to gdp. Again we see progressives being regressive.

 

You need to take your own advice.
The pledge doesn’t talk about creating jobs. Not at all. Not one little bit.

It talks about educating and training workers in n order to enhance their opportunities.

It is highly unlikely that we'll even make it through the next five years without a recession. When that recession hits, watch those job pledges disappear and those same companies lay off people en-masse.

All these companies who have pledged 14 million over 5 years are lying ?? The number could be lower and it could be higher. That does not mean that their prediction is a lie and it doesn't mean that their commitment should be mocked by the progressives.

Trump fans have been saying since 2015 that Trump says what he means and means what he says. Trump said he will build a beuitiful wall and Mexico will pay for it. Where is my wall that Mexico paid for ?

Is that a fact? Ok, let’s take an example. Toyota moved its Corp headquarters to Plano Texas. As a sort of bonus, they got these tax breaks

• $40 million in economic handouts from the Texas Enterprise Fund, i.e. more than 10 percent of Toyota's expected investment in the headquarters
  
• $10,000 for every job being moved to Plano.
• $6.75 million in grants from the city of Plano,
• plus an additional $8.5 million or so in tax breaks

So, explain to me how that is not government subsidies?
