Saying that if the status quo continues for another 4 years, we are going to get worse candidates on both the right and left (which a revolutionary communist would be), is not "demonizing" Sanders. That said, if you are going to call yourself a socialist, then you must embrace the world history of socialism, which could be described as a demonic story.

That's the thing with socialism. There is no "version" of the economy that you can pin on a self-proclaimed socialist. Because socialism exists, and has always existed, only in people's minds. It's why countries as diverse as modern Sweden, Soviet Russia, and Chavez's Venezuela have all claimed the socialist mantle. It's a myth.

But point me to a "What is socialism" thread, or create one if you want me to talk about that. My stance on this topic stands: Trump was correct that IF an abortion ban was effected, it would have to include some sort of punishment, and that Trump should have flipped the script, and told Matthews that he would answer if Matthews would answer if injuring a fetus in the womb (through drugs or other violence) to the point of irreparable damage throughout life should be punished. Then Trump could have showed that his position of punishing women for something they do to the fetus in the womb is not extreme, as many people, including liberals, feel that some things done to the fetus should be punished.

 

Trump really is the flippiest flopper. First he reverses himself on torture and killing terrorist's families and now he changes his mind about punishing women for abortions. At least he didn't blame a young intern or a bad earpiece this time.

I actually appreciate the views of others abroad(While sometimes, they may not have the fullest understanding of things in the country, they do offer a vastly different and most of the times, brighter perspective.) Especially the civilized thinkers of Europe.

We forget that the cradle of democracy was born in Europe, as to were the great empires of their day. There's no short list of greatness in Europe, and we should learn from our European friends. They've done the world superpower thing a lot longer than we have.

 

Is that a reason for celebration?...Wow….Republican establishment, Democrat establishment, Soros financed NGO’s, the media both ‘left’ and ‘right’ etc… all work together against him. Not a Trump supporter but it is not really fair to take the statement out of context. The punishment discussion was about punishing women who had abortions after abortion was made illegal by law. Of course that could never happen because overseas abortions will be mostly used by the wealthy should abortion actually become illegal in the US.
