LOL. Trump is winning appx. 55 miles of fencing which is about what gets done each year without trump. We've presently got over 600 miles of fencing/barriers on the border and the work that's going on now was funded before trump ever muttered the word wall. He's got idiots believing that the work presently going on is part of HIS WALL and the sad part is they believe him. That's why he now encourages "finish the wall" as opposed to "build the wall". The flock gobbles it up not having any idea what's going on.

 

I'm afraid that now, in 2019, people like you and I are 'anachronisms' in the United States. In 2020, I have a feeling of growing certainty that the last vestiges of concern for 'constitutional' government will fade and wither. The masses will be blinded by the promise of "free stuff" from the government, and they'll sacrifice anything and everything to get it.

At some point I finally realized -- Americans are deciding that they want what they think of as "European-style" Socialism, and they aren't even troubled by the enormous amount of TAXES that Europeans pay for their 'utopia'. Why doesn't this bother Americans? Because more and more of us have no real interest in WORKING at all -- so why would they care what some OTHER American has to pay in taxes to give them the 'utopia' that they want...? I truly do believe when we mash all the bullshit out of the issue of government-subsidized, and/or provided "healthcare" (along with all the other welfare handouts) that THIS is the fundamental proposition -- that now, in the 21st-century, Americans will vote in throngs for "free stuff", and that they'll do ANYTHING to get it....

Seriously, Germany IS the 'European Union', and with the passing of every month you can see how much closer the Russians and the Chinese are drawing to the entire EU (led by Germany, of course). The Nordstream 2 gas pipeline was a clincher -- and the Chinese are working their "Belt-and-Road" program very effectively in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Trump asked for money for a project. Got less than he demanded. And then made a national emergency declaration to get more money.
