Nope, I agree with the OP,just adding to the ever growing list of laws trump has broken---
We don't know what e-mails kushner & Ivanka have deleted or covered up or lied about-we haven't had any congressional hearings yet--But, just to give them the same courtesy you all gave to HILLARY--LOCK THEM UP-LOCK THEM UP-LOCK THEM UP----

That is not what you implied and attempting to change subjects is very poor debate technique.

Wrong, it say nothing about standing. Only that they are required to be on the field. Prove what you've just said.

There is another way of looking at this.

Trump's completely unnecessary attack on the NFL is beyond the pale. At a time when our nation is faced with the ravages of two hurricanes, Harvey and Maria, two states in the midst of a national disaster, an American territory virtually destroyed, a crucial vote in the Senate on the nation's healthcare, budget resolution, and tax reform, Trump decides this is good time to demand that Americans boycott NFL football while declaring that NFL owners should fire players who take a knee during the national anthem.

Section Four of the 25th Amendment reads, "It allows the Vice President, together with a "majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide", to declare the President "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office" by submitting a written declaration to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. As with Section 3, the Vice President would become Acting President. Section 4 is meant to be invoked should the President's incapacitation prevent him from discharging his duties, but he is unable or unwilling to provide the written declaration called for by Section 3."

Clearly, as evidenced by his surreal attack on America's most popular pastime, President Trump is incapacitated and cannot fulfill his duties in the Office of the President. It is time for our elected representatives to remove Donald Trump for the sake of the country.

In no small measure, his aberrant behavior as illustrated by his inability to perceive reality is a contributing factor.

I posted the following in one of the other (TOO DAMN MANY) threads on this topic. Here are some provisions in the applicable and possible contracts.

    1. For anyone interested, I skimmed the CBA. This is the first thing I found, but in no way means it's the only way players are restricted in their speech. The actual player contracts are probably the site of the most specific restrictions, and a form follows:

    https://nflpaweb.blob.core.windows....eral/2011_Final_CBA_Searchable_Bookmarked.pdf

Article 51, Section 6 "Public Statements" p.220 (informal cite)

"The NFLPA and the Management Council agree that each will use reasonable efforts to curtail public comments by Club personnel or players which express criticism of any club, its coach, or its operation and policy, or which tend to cast discredit upon a Club, a player, or any other person involved in the operation of a Club, the NFL, the Management Council, or the NFLPA."

    2. More provisions, from the form player contract in Appendix A (not going to cite them), KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS JUST A FORM, NOT A BINDING AGREEMENT ON ANYONE, AND SPECIFIC CONTRACTS MAY OR MAY NOT CONTAIN THESE PROVISIONS AFTER NEGOTIATION.

"He agrees to give his best efforts and loyalty to the Club, and to conduct himself on and off the field with appropriate recognition of the fact that the success of professional football depends largely on public respect for and approval of those associated with the game."

"Player will cooperate with the news media, and will participate upon request in reasonable activities to promote the Club and the League."

"or if Player has engaged in personal conduct reasonably judged by Club to adversely affect or reflect on Club, then Club may terminate this contract."

"15. INTEGRITY OF GAME. Player recognizes the detriment to the League and pro-fessional football that would result from impairment of public confidence in the honest and orderly conduct of NFL games or the integrity and good character of NFL players." ... "or is guilty of any other form of conduct reasonably judged by the League Commissioner to be detrimental to the League or pro-fessional football, the Commissioner will have the right, but only after giving Player the opportunity for a hearing at which he may be represented by counsel of his choice, to fine Player in a reasonable amount; to suspend Player for a period certain or indefinitely; and/or to terminate this contract. "

The above are just the results of a quick skim, there could be more provisions possibly applicable, and I am not making claims as to whether or not any of the above applies, just thought some may find some of the actual contract provisions interesting to see.

Its not, particularly when Trump has the power to do real influence through his executive agencies and executive orders. His words alone are not influence and that is why this bit of liberal trash is just more whining, all bark no bite...

This has been posted on the forum over a dozen times, so posting it again just means you won't read it again. It specifically says they are to stand, helmet in left arm, and remain silent, with potential fines and suspension starting with the first offense.

"The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. 'During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition... ...It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.'”

Every time he kicks your ass, you learn something. You should be thanking him for kicking your ass.

Respecting American has zero to do with this. But given Trump's utter disdain for the 1st Amendment, I do think its fair to say he's definitely made disrespect for America a partisan Republican position.
