For that reason, while I would like nothing more than to see Iran and the US genuinely reconcile their differences, and forge the kind of mutually beneficial relationship which is easily available to them if both sides really tried, I am afraid when I look at the vested interests who want to make sure that never happens and the fact that both sides have plenty to complain about the other, I have to say that the prudent thing for Iran is to fasten its seat belts and make sure it is prepared for the worse. And not give into any more demands unless it can be sure that it is in fact getting something worthwhile in return.

The middle of africa in its deserts with massive overpopulation are really not of strategic importance to the US, so an intervention can't be justified, on a number of fronts.

Libya is on the Europeans' shoulders, not the US, who was dragged into helping them.
