We are not afraid of a "direct military confrontation" with Russia, overall after the poor performances of Russian army in Ukraine.

I know that someone will mention nukes ... but the usage of nukes would mean that nobody will will something ... everybody will lose all.
Not to remind that NATO defensive system can intercept Russian missiles with nuclear warheads.

So ... if Russians want to play ... we are ready to play.

Before that, Ukrainians fired at Donbass with rockets with serial numbers Ш91565, Ш91566. The difference is 13 pieces.

Russian hypervelocity missiles carrying nukes can probably get through any known defenses... except EMP.
Limited nuclear war is more than possible. I suspect Putin will detonate a very samll nuke in Ukraine just to intimidate the population. It will be a very small one which will have little effect withing Ukraine and no effect at all outside Ukraine.

 

Putin risks to lose a lot not obtaining at least some goals in this war.
So that I cannot exclude he will take some extreme steps. If he's not totally mad he won't use nukes against NATO countries: there is still the conception of mutual destruction to consider ... if you use your nukes, be sure that I will use my nukes ...

There is the possibility of the usage of a tactical nuke [maybe to disintegrate an important military object], but the reaction would be quite dangerous for Russia [even China could decide to leave Moscow alone in case of such an act].

My opinion is that Russia will try and take over South Eastern Ukraine using its conventional army. There will be some victories and Russia will claim to have defeated the Nazis clearing those lands. There will be a great celebration in Moscow and nothing more.

Let's see if I'm too optimistic ...

I think Russia intentionally sent their lackluster forces against Ukraine as they do not want the rest of the world to see their better troops.

That's the problem with tactical nukes, if you don't respond in kind, you've lost more than this war.

Contrary to the MSM, Scott Ritter who was a UN weapons inspector among all his other military credentials said that Russia's brilliant strategy in Ukraine will be written down in war manuals.

Anyway the biggest battle since WWII will be starting now. This will be a face off between Ukraine's 60 to 100 thousand troops that are surrounded and Russia's troops which are either equal in number or more. The Ukrainian troops will either surrender, or will be eliminated. The difference with this and the other battles, is that it will be fought out in the open.

Russia wants to complete freeing the people in those areas before their celebration on May 9th over their victory of Nazi Germany. One of their goals is to take Odessa and open a direct corridor to Transnistra. This will cut off Ukraine's access to the Black Sea. The other goal might be to take Kharkov which is Ukraine's industrial center and which consists mostly of Russians.

 

The governments might be bullied and threatened by Washington, but can the people be threatened? In Greece the workers are stopping the arms from going to Ukraine. What this means is no matter how much the MSM lies, it cannot stop the truth from reaching the people.
