Explain how spending can be cut through reconciliation.

The Banana Republic Party owns the current deficits. That’s the triumph of politics. If Republicans had control spending would be cut.

    https://budget.house.gov/publications/fact-sheet/budget-reconciliation-basics

republicans owned congress and the white house for 2 years. They increased the deficit each year. The president is a republican, and has signed every budget bill presented to him. He owns the deficits for each bill he signed. This is reality.

Were you asleep during the two years the GOP had control of Congress and the Presidency?

Do you understand civics ?? Nothing can be accomplished without 60 votes in the Senate. The Republicans did not have control.

The problem with the areas that Republicans want to cut spending is that it is basically only the programs that help poor people they want to touch and decrease. To them, for every million people we can knock off food stamps, thats an extra missile we can buy to blow up brown people. Republicans always want to cover budget shortfalls by harming the most vulnerable among us.

Starve and die. Thats the GOP's answer to help the hungry and the poor and the sick.

I didn't say they didn't know how to increase taxes and spend. They just don't know how to turn the money into results.

BTW, $37K is not a bad income in many states. In CA, you couldn't live in your car for that!

Awesome. Go ahead and copy/paste the part that says spending can't be reduced.

It it was just too hard to try something else, or rather admit they did the wrong thing and triangulated.

Please. The GOP obviously could care less about deficits. It wasn't a priority when they had control, it's not a priority now. It was only a problem when the black guy was President.

It is always a problem. And a problem which the Democrats refuse to address.

I agree. It's a problem and the Democrats have never even bothered caring about it. The hypocricy of the GOP, on this issue, is staggering. The Tea Party lost their **** over these kinds of deficits. Where are they now? Right. Nowhere to be seen. Funny, how that works.

I love how SOMEHOW its always the fault of the democrats in Trump Supporters/RW leaning people. So having a Republican Majority in the Senate for what will be 6 years, and a Majority in the house 8 of the last 10 years is somehow the DEMS fault? If you look at the History of the House it was almost exclusively DEM majority (58 to 4 years) up until the mid 90s. Since then, Republicans have had Majority Control 20 of 26 years. In that same span they have had Majority Control in the Senate 16 of 26 years

Do Republicans take responsibility for ANYTHING these days.

The best thing that ever happened to President Clinton was Gingrich and Kasich taking over the Congress.

    Yes, the good years.

What do they not take responsibility for the surpluses they created during the mid to late 1990's, getting us through the 2000/2001 slowdown recession and back into a full recovery and bringing the deficit down to a paltry $161B? The austerity and sequester of the mid 2010's that cut the Democrats huge deficits almost in half? And YES as the Republicans slowly took back the Congress things got better and look where they are now. What is it you think the Democrats are going to do better and what history shows that?

That’s how politics works. The only way for Republicans to cut spending is to have the Presidency, House majority, and at least 60 votes in the Senate. Democrats will never cut spending. That’s the triumph of politics.

Agreed. And the best policy of his Presidency was triangulation.

I quite literally quoted the official congressional website showing you budget reconciliation and how it works. You claimed it can't be used to reduce spending, which the link I gave you thoroughly disproved. Lol

you seem confused. I directly refuted your claim about a 60 vote majority to pass a budget, and I also directly refuted your claim reconciliation couldn't be used to decrease spending. Neither of those refutations in any way resemble a white flag.

It's still Obama who had that economic bailout plan. A plan that was to safe the economy and repaying debt. GM was just a company for Obama. The banks are doing fine. It's Donald's idea to safe domestic labor jobs. GM is still going bust under Donalds cunning plans, while he has no clue how to repay the debt he is causing. MAGA!
