29 is worse in my opinion. Ft. Irwin is at least pretty nice with plenty of ammenities...that don't smell like sewers.
They can train with RCOs. They should qual with iron sights. Just my opinion though... I saw some POGs struggle with it...hilarious. And the women Marines on table two? lol!!! That was amusing. I'd like to see them on a shoot line when one of them catches a hot casing in their collar...
lol. it does have that open sanitation lake right besides housing, barracks, the PX, ect. wooks? as in wookies? We usually saved that term for the quality of female companionship available off base.
You guys a brutal! We called the Red Cross Ladies, biscuit beeches and donut dollies. When one shows at up a veterans gathering, they now proudly call themselves that. They know we loved and appreciated them.
Air Force girls and the occasional Navy chick ON a big base would definitely get the blood flowing. Not the Army or Marine chicks you'd occasionally see at the FOB....who knew how long since they showered? We used to occasionally pull security when civilain state department teams visited local leaders. There were some premo American chicks who I think just got jetted in for a couple weeks work. They filled my dreams for the whole next week. It was hilarious seeing the Iraqi men ogling over them in their tight jeans and cute little flaks.
So you sound like some seasoned fellows. So what do you think about the marksmanship situation. Would it be a big deal if grunts showed up with some experience at the range, maybe some hunting or competition. Wound it not really matter? Or would it matter some, but it'd be better if they took they spent their time hiking trails with a backpack full of gear or something like that instead of shooting?
I showed up at the range with minimal experience. I'd fired a rifle a handful of times but never come close to mastering it. I shot expert everytime I qualified. A lot of guys showed up with years of experience and shot marksmen (lowest). From what I've learned the majority of guys who come in with a lot of shooting experience have a lot of bad habits they need to break. I wouldn't go out of my way to learn how to shoot before training. They'll show you everything you need. I wouldn't go out of my way to hike with a backpack full of gear either. It can be real rough on the legs and back. Focus on running, functional fitness, and some upper body work. A forced march is quite different than a stroll through the woods.
I've only ever seen one hot Marine chick, and she was really, really hot. Like, whoa...I'm seriously... It was in SOI. She was working at the armory. I nearly shat myself.
Too true. It was a female Lieutenant at the gym everyday at TQ on our way home. Amazing body and face. Always saw her at the gym knocking out pull ups and dips like no ones business. Most of our BN was in love.
Haha, "wook" was meant as an inside joke. Most WMs HATE that word and I only ever heard it around other 03s.
I think Marine infantry would be a different story. I'm not trying to hate on the Army, but we obviously have different marksmanship standards. I don't think it matters. I never shot a weapon in my life before I joined the Marines and I shot expert in my first rifle qualification. Another dude in my platoon was a competition-level shooter before he joined and he shot sharpshooter. He was embarrassed as hell, too.
