Extremely false choice of words. Remember when the U.S. claimed to be involved in Vietnam's civil war? Same lie ... different country. The U.S. was not involved in a civil war in Vietnam nor will it get involved in a civil war in Venezuela. The U.S. CREATED a war in Vietnam and is itching its crotch to CREATE one in Venezuela.

Big deal. There are nearly 200 countries worldwide.

 

Well, there is one thing for sure: if Venezuela teaches us anything, it’s “welfare for all” means life for none.

 

Weak? That’s 25%. Overwhelming? No. Significant? Oh yeah.

 

Is why when right-wingers talk leftists Democratic administrations like Clinton's, they are talking out of their neither regions. There are no leftists in the Democratic establishment although there are some younger voices coming up through the ranks. Unfortunately, those voices and their ideas will likely be drown out by the likes of Pelosi and Biden who only want to win for their own gain and to maintain the status quo.

People forget that along with concentration of ownership in the corporate media, Clinton repealed the Glass-Steagall act that regulated commercial and investment banking. This was a direct factor in the crash of 2008 that almost brought down the global economy.

Clinton also brought in tough on crime legislation that unfairly targeted minority communities and often locked up non-violent drug offenders for maximum sentences often for petty crimes. Often these non-violent offenders were forced into plea deals in order to avoid what amounts to life sentences for simple drug crimes.

Yes, the US is trying it's best to shut out alternate opinions and whistleblowers like Assange. This is happening as we speak as corporations like Google and Facebook are being forced to restrict with algorithms opinions that diverge from the corporate/military/intelligence/security state narrative.

In some ways you can not blame ordinary Americans for not understanding what is going on. Even smart, well informed people can be misled by the emotional appeal of dominant media messaging and patriotic authority.

 

The supposed revolution/ uprising turned out to be nothing more than a fizzle, if that. Juan Guaido needs to sit down and stop listening to Pompeo, Abrams or whomever he is listening to and stop plotting to MURDER tens of thousands , in not millions, of the people whom he claims to be having the best interest of. It is people such as him, Guaido, who are the real dictators and brutalizers of this world, sponsored by the Chief Mischief Makers of the planet.

change sides. They did not do so. Vladimir Padrino rejected the coup within an hour after Guaidó

Guaidó and his backers in the Trump administration were made to believe that some significant
elements of the Maduro government and of the army would turn on Maduro. They launched a
coup attempt that fell apart within a few hours as no one changed sides. All their blustering has
now been deflated. Guaidó has lost his credibility. Washington may still support him but in
Caracas there is likely no one left who believes in him.

Bolton, Pompeo, Abrams and of course Donald Trump have been exposed as buffoons who,
despite their powerful positions, can not even organize a simple coup. They publicly supported
through dozens of tweets and interviews what turned out be a bad amateur theater play. The
diplomatic corps will joke about this episode for the next decade.

Are you sure that Facebook and Google are being forced to restrict real free speech? I say that being that those who own Facebook and Google are censoring and restricting information, opinions and ideas all on their own. As Jeanette has stated. Many of these people sit on the boards of more than one company, so in all honesty, these same people, have a complex that tends to engender authoritarian and control issues.

 

Never get into the habit of calling these types of people buffoons for they are ALWAYS plotting and scheming, right now they and other planners are cooking up more pies, cookie, cupcakes and cakes, for public consumption. Of course, media persons are in the kitchen with them aiding in more deceptions. Just because one plan has failed, there are several more in the works.

 

Agree with you to some extent that these corporations are restricting on their own accord but don't forget that there is political pressure being exerted to make certain websites like Truthdig, RT or Sputnik among many others much harder to access through search engines. This is the same sort of top down pressure applied to legacy news sources to filter information through editorial opinion, ownership bias and restricting content that major advertisers will not accept.

I don't think they were set up by Maduro or anyone else in his government. If the coup was meant to fail, then it had to be deliberate by Washington so they could have an excuse to invade Venezuela. If on the other hand it was not deliberate, then they're listening to the voices in their heads - a common phenomenon in Washington.



How can voices lie?

 

I heard similar from RT hosts, how search engine results do not allow for RT to appear, due to algorithmic exclusions. Yet, we are to believe that we here in America live in a free society. I guess it depends on a person's definition and understanding of what "free" actually is. Do we have more choices in the States? Of course we do, but by name ONLY because if the content is similar, differing only in semantics, then we are no more freer that people in the old CCCP when it comes to access to differing points of view. Even with that, most of the "differing" opinions are textbook controlled opposition; offering ONLY approved opinions, views and ideas. Freedom of thought, is SLAVERY, plain and simple. This is one of the reason I do not fit the standard definition of a Muslim; I listen to the music that I do and hold views, information and opinions that are not "textbook" or stereotypical.

I've noticed. Oh, how I have noticed! But you cannot help but wonder if the lying was always so common and now they figure we can't do anything about it so they don't bother to cover their tracks as well as they used to do.

If that is true, brilliant. For the US the problem is that it does the same plot again and again and it has harmed so many countries now that they are sharing notes. They can roughly guess what the US will get up to and make appropriate plans.

I think that the difference was that in the past people expected their Politicians to have integrity and to properly inform them. Now it has got so that some do not even pretend they do. I am sure I heard the other day that Bolton was admitting he frequently lied....or was it Pompeo?

 

I think they have to kill Guaido first, though the other day I heard Bolton saying simply intending to take legal action on someone attempting a coup would be enough for the US to come in militarily. That being said, a CIA marksman and a dead Guaido seemed to be the best bet.

Am I missing something important here? Did I arrive in the middle of a dialogue that is not my business? Why would the CIA assassinate Guaido after having succeeded in attaching most of the strings to his hands, feet, and mouth? Guaido is Washington's puppet.
