    What this will amount to is the state and outside counties being required to be the police.

    They will find out in about a weeks time what no police at all would actually mean.

    It will be very interesting to see what they try.

    Policing models are very old. I had never considered the idea that they are outdated, but it makes sense. However, coming up with a viable alternative will be groundbreaking and is no small challenge.

    All of you may be afraid to try something beyond 18th century police concepts but I applaud their efforts.

    Not only is this eventually going to result in massive White-flight but also massive Hispanic and Asian flight. There goes the city's tax base.

    New York is doing something similar, they're moving money away from the police and spending on social programs.

    All this defunding of the police is bad for the country because the libs who can move out will move out and infect the red areas.

    Modern day policing has become a quasi-military style front coupled with generating as much income as possible. States and cities need to start identifying what is and isn’t working and fix those items independently, reevaluate after a set time and make improvements. Other states can then implement what is working and discard what isn’t. They need to do with with healthcare and education also.

    Progress is one way, stagnation (aka conservatism) is the other.

    Apparently cops typically don't live in the neighborhoods they police. But historically they did. This has helped to foster the us vs them mentality in both the cops and the public. So that is a good place to start.

    We had a bunch of cops in the family. I have heard many stories of police abuse first hand. Hell, when one of them died, I helped to clean out his house. We found all sorts of illegal weapons. His daughter pointed to a pistol he carried in his boot. That was his unregistered gun, she said. Beyond that we found brass knuckles, all sort of lead-loaded thumpers and sawed-off shotguns, among other things that he carried.

    There will be one positive in this, however, property values will massively drop across the city. Although one might have to turn one's home into an armed fortress, still it should be a steal.

    Thank God I live in a small rural town nowhere near any major cities. The folks here all don't like what happened to Floyd, but we want no part of the resulting lawlessness.

    The one sided reporting of the MSM is like nothing I have ever seen.

    They sided with Obama, but today’s MSM is out of control.

    I am sure Trumps war on the media is fueling a lot of it, but it is beyond belief.

    I always liked middle of the road Joe Biden, but he has slipped so far mentally since 2016. He is now just the squad’s puppet.

    I hope he picks Klobuchar, because I think she would be a good VP who may need to step in real early.
