Buried in a recent Star Tribune article was the fact that violent crimes jumped from 54 in 2010 to 84 in 2018, an increase in roughly 56 percent. Authorities attribute the violence to rivalries between Somali gangs, such as the Somali Mafia, the Somali Outlaws, the Hot Boyz, and Madhibaan with Attitude, Alpha News reports.

According to a 2014 Southside Pride article, the Outlaws and Madhibaan with Attitude have a rivalry that stretches back years, and likely resulted in the murder of two Somali men in April 2014. That article notes that the summer of 2013 was a particularly bloody season for gang warfare, which produced at least 4 killings.

I'm a little curious where all these African American people came from.
Minneapolis, being so far north and west in the Midwest, traditionally never really had a large African American population.
I know the population has been bolstered by a recent large scale influx of migrants from Somalia, but still, it seems most of these protesters do not look at all ethnically Somalian.
Perhaps African Americans have been pushed out of other cities in the Midwest and have been moving further out to smaller second tier cities like Minneapolis?
Chicago has seen a huge surge in foreign immigration, and lots of Hispanics moving there, so prices have increased.

I'm just trying to put all the puzzle pieces together, because something seems a little strange about all this happening in a city like Minneapolis.

This is a dangerous trend that will continue. Our national crime rates, our murder rates, property theft, drug use, sex crimes, everything - is about to go way way way up. Mark my words, "white flight" is going to make a comeback because of this.

 

This would be interesting to watch. From safe distance. My bet - federal government will have to bring in troops to restore order within 10 hours.

So I say, go ahead and defund the police in Minneapolis. Don't do it in my city, but if Minneapolis wants to do that, I say go for it, and good luck.

 

I don't think they'll learn anything.

When I've brought up history before, it's like I mostly get blank stares.
It doesn't register in their brains.

They'll just move on to a new city, and repeat.

 

we are going to watch blue staes turn red because the average American law abiding citizen wont stand for this no matter what state they live in and they will show up to vote in droves

 

I actually think it will be a good lesson for next few generations.
The absence of police will be very temporary. I have a gut feeling about it.
