Vice President Pence met with silence after mentioning Trump in a speech

As he spoke to attendees of the Munich Security Conference, he noted that he was there on behalf of a "great champion of freedom and of a strong national defense."

"I bring greetings from the 45th president of the United States of America, President Donald Trump," Pence said.

Pence then paused, perhaps waiting for a reaction.

The response? Silence.

After about five seconds, Pence continued on with his speech.

A copy of Pence's prepared remarks provided by the White House marks an "applause" note following Pence's greetings line.

My German friends make it quite clear that they do not like Donald Trump! My German friends are older people (mostly German 'Baby Boomers'), who have always had great affection for the United States, and several of them have lived over here for a while, too. All of them speak English, and all of them like "We the American People", but it is true... they don't like Donald Trump.

In fairness, they don't like any of the big political names in France or Italy, either, and they think that a lot of the other EU countries are populated by criminals and miserable, lazy idiots. They think the British have completely lost their freaking minds with this 'Brexit' initiative, and that it will greatly harm the economy of every European country -- including Great Britain and Germany. But, none of that alters the fact that they don't like Donald Trump.

 

Dirty Donald is as popular in Europe as a fart in a space suit.

 

The World is catching onto what America ALREADY Knows:

That is a rather outrageous misharacterization of my statement, but you are certainly free to believe any RW Fantasy that floats your boat.

Obama was a Statesman and a Nobel Prize Winner who was worthy of Worldwide Respect.

Trump is a Completely Unqualified Joke (who has made the Entire USA a Worldwide Laughingstock), and thus Trump is Completely Unworthy of any sort of Respect.

I've now watched that clip 15 times and I laugh everytime.. the gift that keeps on giving.. strange that Ivanka wouldn't have tried a few claps before being shamed into silence.. Pence would have appreciated it..

We had Obama ---- apologizing for America and then claiming we really weren't that exceptional after all ---- and now we have Trump ---- who is unapologetically patriotic and America first and Make America Great Again ---- does anyone really even expect foreign leaders to "like" him when surely they'd rather have wimpy anti-America Obama back?

The OP also neglects to mention this speech was "part of the John McCain Dissertation Award Ceremony, named after the late Arizona Republican senator – who was a vocal critic of Trump" so again, did anyone really expect a lot of applause from a group like this, gathered for a purpose like this?

Pence's speech writer probably gave this group too much credit for class when they left room for applause, but obviously the petty children in the room would rather sit on their hands and pout about Trump standing up for America (and in turn, standing up to them.) Boo hoo.

All in all, I'd say this "story" is another big leftist nothingburger.

 

One wonders in retrospect what German Kanzlerin Merkel thought of Obama allowing American intel agencies (primarily the NSA) to bug and hack her personal communications devices!

Parenthetically, did Merkel pick out the jacket in this photo, or was it done by someone who really, really hated her?! Where are my eye drops?!

If it came out that Trump was bugging Merkel's communications/computer devices, the radical Democrats in the "news" media would immediately construct a way to suggest that it was done in collusion with the Russians to "hack the election for Trump". Nearly EVERYTHING they've said, suggested, or mused has funneled right straight down into that fantasy... (Saul Alinsky's 12th Rule).

 

FYI, do you actually believe USA Intelligence services have stopped spying on others. I have little doubt USA Intelligence services have more than one electronic channel into foreign intelligence, and one of them was outed during the Obama Admin. I seriously doubt it started and stopped during Obama's terms.

 

I would say any admin spying on one of our strongests allies personal phone would be frowned on..
