Whether you know it or not, we, the United States of America, is and has been for many years at war, a real war, with China.

My question is: Why are we not retaliating with military actions? I say take out of their so called island bases in the South China Sea. Bomb the headquarters of the Chinese cyber warfare. Impose massive economic sanctions on the Chinese government. Remember that they need us way more than we need them. Maybe sink a few oil tankers headed for China.

What are they going to do? Nuke us? LOL! Not going to happen. China has about 300 deliverable nuclear warheads. We have over 7000.

300 would wipe us out as a nation. Most of us would probably survive, if you could call that surviving. They don't call it MAD for nothing.,

    You just don't understand.

If you wish to get technical, three warheads could destroy 90% of the people of the USA.

The same could be said of the Chinese.

I may not understand your point, but I understand that nuclear war is something we do not want and China most likely does not want it either. If we initiate some kind of military action against China, then all bets are off when it comes to their response. We have many bases such as Guam which could end up being a target.. If they just happened to accidentally hit Guam with a nuke what do we do next? The stakes are too high to play games.

I don't know so I hope there's a lot of traffic on this.

I can try to guess though and I guess it's because America's wars with Asians resulted in pretty heavy losses here. America doesn't have the stomach for heavy losses to foreigners.

I also think America hasn't pressed too hard on China because she has a massive population, major workforce, strong manufacturing base, and strong enough identity to keep outside forces from infiltrating to deep into military or political networks.

In effect, China is no North African or Middle Eastern country (easy countries America likes to beat up on). That's why I'm guessing.

I’ll say it again. I do not under any circumstance support nuclear war or nuclear retaliation. War should be fought with people... not these near-Armageddon devices. Absolutely no country is worth using nukes for.

I’d much rather nation states be dissolved than for everyone to die because of insane governments.

We absolutely should not have 7000 nukes. Disarm and disassemble them ALL. Why? Look at how stupid and clueless the average person is. The average voter is so polarized and self-absorbed about useless BS, they have absolutely no perspective. And yet these idiots elect people that serve in government, that are involved in using these nukes.

Disassemble them all. Humanity and society has shown itself completely incapable of such responsibility.

You want to sink oil tankers and create an environmental disaster?

What has China done that warrants war?

Exactly what 'war' are you referring to??? Is this a battlefield conflict with arms/weapons? Can you please be more specific?

Says the guy with marine corps in his sig...

I thought you guys weren’t brainwashed...

I’m the stupid one for not wanting solutions, or even argument, to include nuclear weaponry? I’m the stupid one for not wanting to involve every human being, and our species, in this chest thumping, phallus measuring idiocy we call patriotism and “country”?

I venture to say the world would be a LOT better off without religion or stupid countries that people blindly support. These ridiculous ideals, philosophies, etc. the “USA”.... sorry, it’s a meaningless thing. “Freedom” is just an idea.

I think the world is the opposite of what you’re told. People matter, not ideas. If you want to go die for a word, that’s up to you. Leave me out of it.

And before you say it, I’ve been alive since 1982. Not once has the US military defended my freedom. Not once has that “freedom” been in jeopardy.

I’m blown away sometimes... impressed in the worst way possible. That people would think the US is so important, we need to talk about nukes...

    It isn’t.

I agree in principle, but so long as there is a possibility one country could have usable nukes, no other country will want to be without them. As a practical matter, that is a very high bar that may never be reachable.

The war with China is Cyber. I assume the US is quite capable of responding on a cyber level. In fact I would be surprised if cyber actions were not occurring all the time and not just against China. During the Obama years we learned the the US took cyber actions against Iran and tapped Merkel's phone for example. The real crime is when government officials do not follow the law and allow easy access to our secrets. Clinton and her gang should all be in prison for this.

A physical war should be the last straw. If the US wanted to bring China to it's knees they could easily do it with sanctions. China imports 75% of it's food. Cut that off and you get their attention right away.

And one reason that US Military has not defended your freedom is because the US Military is prepared to defend that freedom and that freedom has not been in jeopardy because the US Military was prepared to defend that freedom.

You can't close Pandora's Box, no one is going to give up their nukes. If we dismantle ours that will just put us at a disadvantage to those who will not.

Do you really want to live in a world where Russia and China have nukes but the US doesn't.

The Chinese have perfected the art of winning wars with minimal to no fighting. They will rule the world one day if they have not already. Read The Art of War. If the United States takes military action against China, trust me that they will be prepared for it.

I agree completely it’s impractical. But in a world of idiocy that we live in, we should be striving for it. It’s the only reasonable thing to do.

    “Us at a disadvantage,”

Again, I do not support nuclear options militarily, or as a retaliation. All of our governments are too stupid and reactionary to have that kind of firepower. The goal should be to rid the world of nukes. If you want war, go in with people... PAY FOR IT.

There are too many platitudes, useless phrases and ideologies that people hang their beliefs on. We are all people at the end of the day. We all poop the same. I am a human being first, American citizen second.

We need some god**mn perspective in this country. These platitudes should come second to reason. Governments I see as the problem, and as a species we’d be better off if we get beyond these stupid, man made labels we’ve given ourselves and others.

I missed this one. This is patently false. By some calculations, all the nukes on the planet wouldn’t cover the surface of earth. Nukes aren’t THAT strong.

That said, they’re strong enough for me to argue we shouldn’t have them, because no one should be making those types of decisions with so many lives.

There was no threat... and you said the same thing twice. That doesn’t make the point doubly affective.

It’s a common myth that the military protects my “freedom.” As I’ve said, freedom is just a word. It’s a useless idea. The military has done little to defend me in my lifetime. But I’ve seen it do a LOT of killing and removing people from their homes overseas for economic interests.

People get those two things confused a lot.
