Warren, Democrats Pledge to Fine, 'Crack Down' on Pro-Life Crisis Pregnancy Centers

…Pro-lifers, though, say the bill would prevent women from receiving the services they need. Care Net, a pro-life non-profit organization, says its 1,100 affiliates across North America provided more than $62 million in free services in 2018.

"Crisis pregnancy centers give women real choice, offering them resources to choose to continue their pregnancy," tweeted pro-life writer Bethany Mandel.

Daniel Darling, director of the Land Center for Cultural Engagement at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, called the bill "shameful."

"Pregnancy Centers are staffed by some of the best people in the country, serving women in crisis," Darling said. "This by Warren will only encourage the vandalism and attacks on PRC's."

Actress Patricia Heaton also criticized the bill.

"Our medical pregnancy clinic serves client families for five years, providing superior services for anyone who asks," Heaton said. "We raised $250K for a mobile medical clinic for underserved areas, treating everyone. Because of people like @SenWarren, we now have to hire armed security."

This move by the senators is nothing but cold blooded vitriolic spite. They are bitter that roe vs Wade was overturned and that the people through the states now determine the rules for abortion. They seek to punish those who actually are providing support systems for expectant mothers and their babies.

 

Several states tried to crack down on the crisis pregnancy centers including free speech limits that the Supreme Court already struck down. This effort is nothing more than vindictive retribution.

 

To steal a word the left constantly uses, this is fascism.

Employees at these centers would be required to disclose that they are not abortion providers,

It’s fascist to make them disclose what they actually do?

 

They do disclose all of the services that they provide to an expectant mother and to her and her baby’s health and the post birth services that they provide mothers and their child.

 

Many planned parenthood facilities are not direct abortion providers either. Yet their name suggests planning a family….

 

Do they disclose what they don’t do?

Because after almost 30 years of my wife being a director at an HCPC, nobody has ever come there looking for an abortion.

 

Then it shouldn’t be an issue to tell them they can’t get one. I don’t see the issue.

 

The issue is government busybodies trying to dictate how people communicate or express themselves to one another. We had this fight in California already and the Supreme Court protected us from coerced expression.

If only we had a device that would allow us to remotely talk with people, or a device that would allow us to look up information.

 

Does your foot surgeon disclose to you he isn't a brain surgeon?
Does Pizza Hut disclose they don't sell Whoopers with Cheese?
Does you dentist disclose he doesn't do heart transplants?
