How does one have contempt of a political process?

Don't know if you found this out, but the missing Dem is Ted Lieu, out on a medical issue..

Sounds like he had to get himself a "Bernie"

They don't. The charge is "Contempt of Congress" by the President, by refusing to cooperate with the impeachment process by refusing to provide Congress with witnesses and documents necessary to their investigation.

I really want to know how people feel about the last admin(and every admin before them) doing exactly that and no impeachment. Sounds like a good opinion thread.

Actually the technical charge is Obstruction of Congress, but it's hair splitting...

Trump thinks he's above the law and that was his line in the sand... and now it's getting kicked in his face...

The Democrats lack any evidence of an abuse of power, a quid pro quo, an extortion or any of the above. This shouldn't even be a Senate Trial at this point. It would have been a hilarious show, but quite frankly the American People have grown tired of drowned out voices as a miserable and pitiable excuse of a campaign ad.

(Yes, I reference to all of the disgusting sop stories, which would have compelled my heart as a 12 yr old but makes my stomach wretch today of excuses and weak-assed justifications.)

You stated "A plurality supports the impeachment and removal.”

Silliness, this construct, but an interesting window on your bias.

None refused to wholly cooperate. This is the first President to assert Absolute Immunity as a justification for keeping all current and former employees from testifying or turning over any documents.

I presume because the particular Congresses serving during those Presidential terms didn't believe Presidential behavior rose to the level of impeachment.

I don't even think 'immunity' applies from the standpoint that he didn't do anything from which to be immune. If the House has evidence of wrongdoing, it should so proceed. Not to make up the wrongdoing and then demand what it thinks MIGHT be evidence lol. By the House's own actions, they admitted that the Mueller report is nonactionable, so there's no reason for McGahn to testify now.

Ya I get um all the time, "Good Morning/afternoon/evening/. do you have a minute or two to answer a questionnaire? Great, what party do you align with, Democrat, Republican or other?" Answer- Republican------------------------------------"CLICK"

That's the very reason the left lost in 2016, they skew the polling and the gullible eat it up LMAO :) ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯

I think most of the major polls were within the margin of error and predicted a reasonably close race. It was the pundit's interpretation of the polls that projected a Clinton victory. IOW, a poll may have projected a Clinton win, but with a + or - 3% margin. The pundits correctly called the election for Clinton based on the poll result, but to be certain, should have only predicted a Clinton win by more than the margin of error. That, and national media looked to national polls reflecting the national popular vote, which Clinton DID win.

Again, Trump has asserted a new legal theory for why every current and former employee should not testify and why no documents should be produced.

It is the aformentioned Absolute Immunity.

Except they didn't correctly call it, or she would have won. The popular vote margin comes from two states, and two states only: CA and NY. And yes, there's disdain for how those States are run as overpriced, terribly managed and incredibly impoverished States.

I'll assume you simply forgot the "Get well soon", Congressman Lieu, as you were responding to my post about him??
