No, the last time it was that high human beings evolved. As in not just survived, but thrived. You know, without AC or anything.

It's cute though that you think you can save a species from going extinct.

Which species do you want to save.

You would have to start with China.

Yes, I am after your money. Do you want a PO box where you can send it?

I know the great global warming scam where all the world's climate scientists are colluding to deceive the world for grant money but the Exxon-mobile/Koch bros funded think tanks like WUWT are telling you the truth and would never take your money for anything.

It's as though you are completely unaware of the conservation efforts world wide. Including the US. Without the efforts of those organizations there would be at least a few more extinctions today than there are. Some species have rebounded completely and are no longer on the endangered species list.

Cute huh? I'd like to protect habitat for as many as possible.

Last time CO2 was over 400 ppm was between 800,000 and 1.5 million ya. You are saying there were people around back then?

Genesis 1:26 Then God said “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

God gave us the Earth and all life in it to dominate its the falling into sin that corrupted this but the devastation of the planet is part of God's punishment and so is divine will. Humanity is perfectly likely as a species to survive but poor and undeveloped nations will likely suffer a lot and many will die and other human regions will do better. We should focus on our souls not mundane worldly matters our bodies will all end up dust what happens here in this world doesn't matter. Anyway maybe this is God's way of smacking down nations who deny Him and part of their judgment.

That's correct. Hominins were prevalent then.

You are ignoring the substance of the report which reviewed over 15,000 studies on the subject.

Which species do you think have rebounded COMPLETELY and completely from which levels.

I am completely aware of conservation efforts worldwide. I am completely aware that we are still in danger of losing at least 1 million species in decades due to habitat loss and overharvesting among other things.

This does not matter to you?

While you ramble on, keep one thing in mind... taxing people to 'help stop climate change/extinction of ecosystems' the only winning faction is the taxing authority.

That being said, people voluntarily doing things to reduce their impact on the earth is a unconscious choice, and becomes habit. Mandate it/force it by taxation, and you are likely to get less response.

Too many cries of wolf from that corner of the world have made many immune to the possible real event. Thank your brethren for that.

Was there a modern civilization of 7 billion people dependent on a stable climate and abundance of ecosystems for survival?

    Were there Homo Sapiens?

Despite there not being 7 billion people on Earth 1.3 to 1.8 million years ago, did 99% of species still go extinct?

Are you saying 22 C hotter with 6k PPM CO2 in the atmosphere was a stable climate to evolve in?

Let’s start by eliminating China, India and some 3rd world countries doing the majority of the damage. Imagine all the people NOT starving anymore. Africa can become open plains of animals again. Less people means Less expelling of poisonous CO2 and methane. Fish will flourish again and fix the oceans once China isn’t consuming them.

Science is not driven by a "show of hands". The only reason you are addressing the US in regards to CC is because you already know you will not see a dime from China or India, two of the biggest polluters on the planet.

Enough for today. I was hoping for better but let the deniers have their say
No because we weren't in a species extinction as we are today - and this one is entirely human caused.

Are you not concerned at all what climate upheaval we are seeing will do to a civilization and planet that is already in ecological crisis. Think about all the cities along the coastlines and how dependent they are on the stability of the oceans.

I don't think you fully understand what this is going to be like. And it is not some future problem. Climate crisis is happening right now all over the globe from extreme floods to wildfire threats.

It is going to get worse and it will not just be humans that are effected. There is not an ecosystem on the planet that will not be effected.

    Enough of this for today.

I was hoping for something besides abject denial but any discussion of this is probably good. I am hoping that when I get back to this thread the deniers will have got it out of their system and some better discussion will have happened from others who may want to contribute.

    Please........:)

    Carry on.

    Wrong.

99% of all species since the beginning of life have gone extinct.

We have no climate upheaval. We have no ecological crisis.

The ocean is stable. It has been stable for the last 8,000 years.

You're being lied to by people who want your money.

We have no climate upheaval? We have no ecological crisis? The ocean is stable? It has been stable for the last 8,000 years?

    Do you really believe this?

So the 15,000 studies cited in the report are all completely wrong and all those scientists just want my money?

Just for the record in my little country alone we are seeing once in 100 year flooding every year now and wildfire seasons the likes of which have never been experienced. People in the north where climate is changing faster than anywhere else don't have to be told we are in climate upheaval. They can see the changes for themselves. The people who believe the denier industry lies are becoming more and more marginalized except in the extreme right-wing in Trump land who see the melting arctic as an opportunity. Yeah, an opportunity for war and exploitation.

The science just backs up what you can see and feel for yourself if you explore honestly.

Ask the disaster insurance industry if there is no climate upheaval.

You are being lied to by corporate media and fossil fuel industry propaganda that wants to extract every last dollar out of the death throes of the planet.

    Of course I believe it.

You mean the studies measuring sea-level rise in millimeters?

You're trying to measure things that occur in geological time with 100 years of questionable data, so of course you're wrong.

But sure, marginalize me bro. Give me the Amish treatment.

What's your plan. I'd love to hear it.

Environmentalists have made many predictions over the decades.
Have any of them come true?
